The oil industry has been making huge investments in alternatives, going back more than a decade. They themselves know the writing is on the proverbial wall. This isn't the issue you think it is. No one is going to 'end' the oil industry quickly. There will be a phase-out over years, something the industry itself is and has been talking about and preparing for. Maybe it will take another decade, maybe 2, and maybe longer than that.

No kidding, Marathon Oil just closed refineries in Martinez CA and Gallup NM. The Martinez facility is considering reopening as a renewable diesel facility.

Renewable energy is on deck for many oil companies. When someone like the current prez makes oil an issue, most just shake their heads in anger, not having done any research on these issues or even understanding how the industry itself has been working hard and for a long time to plan to transform themselves, with no pressure from some future president.
It's like people who get angry the coal mining industry isn't going to roar back as if it's 1955, like a certain prez promised. That ship sailed, long ago.

Usage is down because of the virus.
It's not going to stay that way.
And people forget that the oil industry isn't just gas....
Biden is so moderate, if you didn't know which party he belonged to, once you read his stance on things, you would probably identify him as a Republican.

It practically EVERYTHING.
In part that's true, but it's not reason to permanently close a refinery or switch it to renewable diesel
Biden is a moderate centrist stop the "radical left" nonsense
Have you realized yet that Trump exaggerates absolutely everything?
Do you think any socialists actually consider Biden one of them?
Before this election it would sound stupid to say Biden was radical left
and it still does.
Even Bernie Sanders is actually more representative of a Scandinavian "Social Democrat" mixed economy
than to a actual socialism where all industry is nationalized and there are no private companies
Half the country is Republican and there is the House and Congress to contend with.
Even if a president had some hardcore socialist policy they couldn't get it passed
and Biden if far from it. Let's stop the hyperbole people are tired of the whiplash
Biden is a Communist sympathizer. He would also sell our country for money for his son's drug addiction.
....and make Americans provide health insurance for illegals and incentivize more of them to break into our country.
Double riiiiiight.
