I'm not so sure these big democrat cities are all that profitable anymore, or will be in the future. Your socialist democrat leaders want entitlements and "equality for all" which are simply not affordable unless everyone and everything is taxed to death. Lots of people are fleeing the high taxes, riots, and lawlessness in these cities and moving out into the "red states" and even red counties of blue states. Businesses will also do the same, given the opportunity of free enterprise on the red side and socialist "taking" on the blue side. In the end, blue USA will consist of a 3rd world country of cities of starvation, power outages, homeless, poverty, failed infrastructure, and filth, overseen by the elite democrat Oligarch's you continue to elect.

In your dreams.

The income taxes paid by blue states currently used to support the military would be gone. They can use that money for their social programs.

It has already been proven by several researchers and writers that the resources used by homeless would be far less if they were housed with a staff to monitor medications needed, etc. so that they can work and become self sufficient.

Then you would be a sitting duck for invasion/takeover or just massive uncontrolled illegal immigration. Socalijuana here we come. Appliance box homes anyone?

But these big democrat cities don't do that, and instead spend an estimated $100K per homeless person on "studies", enforcement, cleanup, and ER visits for OD. They steal and assault people to get money for drugs, and support a whole supply chain for drugs within these cities, and their resulting crime as well. Why is that?

Big democratic cities like LA, NY, San Francisco, Seattle and Boston? The ones that host industries and major companies like: Hollywood, banking, Wall Street, publishing, Silicon Valley/tech, Amazon, Boeing, and the best universities in the country? The ones that host the largest ports that support import:export? The cities with the most innovative arts programs? Concert halls?

Like it or not, agriculture is not the economic engine of the country, and probably has not been since the 1920s or so. Blue cities and states support the entire agricultural industry through farm bill subsidies.

If the red states secede, farmers are instantly hemorrhaging cash, and because the blue states can purchase food on the global market, Iowa corn farmers are going to be in competition with Canada, Mexico, Australia, Russia, and anybody else with acreage and water.

Yes, it is much more complicated than that. Coast to coast transport would be a problem. Red areas of blue states, and blue areas of red states are probably insurmountable issues. Who owns the water rights of the Colorado River? Electric grid?

In truth, there are probably more complex issues than there are simple issues, but who grows the most potatoes is not a relevant thing.

If you think a little it might be. The cost of a potato from Idaho vs one imported from China could be a bit of an issue.

He has hinted at it:
Trump Compares Himself To A King

https://www.huffpost.com/entry/trump...b64ba2975071a2

President Donald Trump compared himself to a king Saturday with a quote by American philosopher and writer Ralph Waldo Emerson warning: “When you strike at a king, you must kill him.”
