I was only half kidding... because gun sales always jump when a Dem wins.

In fact when Trump won gun manufactures described it as "The Trump Slump".

Don’t worry - he is just as likely to issue an executive order making clothing optional so you can still walk around with your ‘weapon’’ on full display to prove what a badass you are . . .

Sorry, but this is about the dumbest comment I've ever read in a gun related discussion. That was really, really bad, and to me, it shows that you're just not putting any effort into the conversation, at all. If that's the case, why bother participating?

Wrong, wrong and wrong. It's not nonsense, prices certainly have gone up and you could absolutely find an AR for $300 a couple of years ago.

You gotta be careful making statements like that, when you can't possibly have the knowledge to back them up. Someone's always going to call you on it, especially when you're bullhorning your comments to a group peppered with people who actually DO have the knowledge.

Ok.

10 U.S. Code § 246 - Militia: composition and classes
(a) The militia of the United States consists of all able-bodied males at least 17 years of age and, except as provided in section 313 of title 32, under 45 years of age who are, or who have made a declaration of intention to become, citizens of the United States and of female citizens of the United States who are members of the National Guard.

(b) The classes of the militia are—
(1) the organized militia, which consists of the National Guard and the Naval Militia; and

(2) the unorganized militia, which consists of the members of the militia who are not members of the National Guard or the Naval Militia.
So we can scrap the 45 year old limit, as that's now age discrimination, and the "males" would become "persons" for basically the same reason.

Welcome to the militia.

I thought that rural gun owners were all ignorant hicks. That's the message being sent by your friends, anyway. Just curious - do you ever correct them, or do you let them insult your family like that?

I remember when Lee Harvey Oswald was shot and killed shortly after he was disarmed and handcuffed.

His stock in trade was to work with the Government.
