Well, I doubt we will agree, but the 2nd amendment protects an individual right to keep and bear arms for service in the militia. Today's world is vastly different than it was back in the late 1700's. Using that same logic, Jim Crow laws should still exist, segregation is great, etc. My point is - things change. NO ONE needs unlimited access to guns with the firepower that advanced technology has given us. Do I think people should be able to own guns? Yes. Do I think there need to be restrictions on types and numbers? Yes.
Using this logic than using the internet, watching TV or listening to the radio shouldn’t be covered under the First Amendment... What about voting by Mail??
People can’t pick and choice when it comes to the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
If Biden attempts to do a forced government buy-back or force people to pay a numerous NFA tax on their already owned legal firearms and magazines that would force the country into a Constitutional crisis that will have some very negative effects on the country... This is way when Biden and the Left’s calls for unity is pure BS. Nothing more and nothing less and will not happen.
Right now the country is evenly split and this stupid act and yes, it’s a stupid act, will divide the country to a point that nobody wants to go or deal with the consequences that will come with this stupid act.
The Second Amendment isn’t about hunting and NEVER was about hunting. Currently, I do not fear my government, but that can change overnight, if pushed.
No, Obama never actually came for our guns......he just threatened to. And because of the threats and perception, there are now tens of millions more.
Now Biden has been much more specific about coming for them. We'll see.
But a huge tax is certainly one way, although no one will comply. That will create an interesting situation....
The only time he's actually threatened any such thing was in the fever dreams of gun loving republicans.

Sorry, but this is about the dumbest comment I've ever read in a gun related discussion. That was really, really bad, and to me, it shows that you're just not putting any effort into the conversation, at all. If that's the case, why bother participating?

Of course not. Too weak for an issue like this. t would only happen in a scenario where the Demorats get the Senate and can vote in their gun ban/registration issues. Even then, it would end up in the SCOTUS and lose, so really the Dems need to control the House, Senate, Presidency, AND stack the Supreme Court. Even this would not allow for removal of the 2A, since that takes 2/3 of the houses and 3/4 of the states.
But they could cause a major issue, possibly civil war, if they controlled bot houses......
