My employer and I have a voluntary association. Since I would like to continue that association for at least 10 more years, if they require the most up to date vaccine total as a condition of employment, well, then jabs I shall receive.
I already have the booster shot scheduled in two weeks anyway, with or without my employer's input, so whatever they come up with, I'll likely already on the right side of it as it happens.
My wife's job is to give chemo to immuno-compromised patients, and for their benefit, I do my part to minimize my wife's risk of covid. Neither of us particularly worries/cares beyond that point, but that is a legit concern for us, so we choose according to those parameters.
I'm a real estate agent. I don't have an employer. But if I did, I would conact a lawyer and refuse the vaccine.
Title VII of the Civil Rights Act and Title I of the Americans with Disabilities Act require employers to make reasonable accommodations for 1) sincerely held religious beliefs and 2) medical exemptions
I work at a hospital too, and its not currently required but it is "strongly recommended."
I suspect that this position may be because the vaccine is not yet actually formally approved in the US, it has an emergency use authorization. If/when it becomes formally approved I wouldn't be surprised if hospitals, at least, start to require it, just like the flu shot.
Right now the vaccine is just another flu shot(s).
The annual flu shot, annual being the key word, which has been given for a number of years better fits the term "vaccine".
The Covid "vaccine", regardless the scientific jargon requires injections three to four times more often than annually which better fits the term "shots".
