So you're responding to a post where someone says, without proof or a link, that the vaccine is not effective with the new strain? Where's your proof? The vaccine is not rendered ineffective. If you both would do a little tiny bit of research, you wouldn't be agreeing with a lie.
Forget the new strain for a minute. If you have to go back and get additional shots of this 'vaccine' every three months or so, how effective is this 'vaccine' with the current strain? And some of the experts have said that even after getting this 'vaccine,' you need to keep wearing a mask afterwards and social distancing, apparently indefinitely, forever. What the hell kind of 'vaccine' is this supposed to be?
I have a good friend who suffered a traumatic brain injury two weeks ago. He's on a vent and under heavy sedation. When they try and bring him out, he responds very very slowly and he is not making much progress towards recovering.
He is in the hospital and is denied visitors.
How much of is non progress is because his kids cannot see him? Because he can't hear his wife's voice? How alone and defeated does he feel?
I have big suspicions that covid is going to be his demise - not because he'll contract it, but because he's being denied personal interaction with people who love him.
I'm glad your friend is ok.
With that stated, Covid-19 is starting to overrun hospitals. If hospitals get too overrun where they don't have the staff to take take care of BOTH Covid-19 and non Covid-19 patients, then rationing of care could happen.
What that means is that in that scenario, depending on how bad your friends TBI was, the hospital system could have let him die in order to save other people who had a better chance of living from what ever ailment they were suffering from.
Covid-19 may not have a high fatality rate but unfortunately due to how quick it spreads and how a decent amount of people need serious medical care, many people could indeed die to causes not related to Covid-19, but not in the reasoning you mentioned above .
And COVID isn't going to go away either. It will just continue to mutate regardless of how many vaccines (thats never stopped a coronavirus) are made
Maybe a little research will help you understand. It's not going to remain as a pandemic, and you seem to want it to. Like to scare yourself and others? Just stop.
"The combination of vaccination and natural immunity will protect many of us. The coronavirus, like most viruses, will live on—but not as a planetary plague."
We cannot continue extended lockdowns. This is a virus with a 99.7% survival rate. And the amount of people who are being harmed from the lockdowns is rapidly increasing ...
Obviously you have no clue how Case Fatality Rate is defined. Your number is an order of magnitude off.

Good questions. The way I understood, the vaccine requires two shots, and maybe a yearly shot afterwards. There are so many "experts" out there, a person can find an opinion to suit them. Some docs say there's no transmission of the virus after vaccination, and no transmission if one is asymptomatic, and masks won't be needed. People who are scared will wear masks; others will be over it.
Here's an idea: Why don't all the control freak hypochondriacs, that are so afraid of getting this, just stay home with their masks, and let the rest of those that are still sane in society go on with their lives?
You have no right to spread a fatal disease, regardless of how you think or feel about it.

If I (or anyone else) decide to go out into public and end up contracting this rarely lethal virus, thats my fault and no one elses. It's called personal accountability, Its a concept that you and sadly a large portion of the population obviously has a hard time comprehending.
"If I (or anyone else) decide to go out into public and end up contracting this very non lethal virus"
non lethal?...over 300,000 dead so far..
