You lefties squandered a huge opportunity 4 years ago. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE knew that Trump had a huge ego and liked to make deals. You could have stroked that ego and got a lot of what you wanted...dreamers, social programs etc, but you just couldn't stomach the thought of giving him anything HE wanted, or the thought that he might claim a win, so you made a political calculation to double and triple down on his legitimacy.
Whine and cry all you want about Americans in need and that it's Christmas, but the House could have done direct stimulus any time over the summer. Yeah, you passed massive bills, but all of them contained multiple poison pills you knew Republicans would never say yes to, all to score political points, so don't stand on principle now. It's unseemly. You made a political calculation at the expense of the American people, and I guess you probably feel like it worked, because Joe Biden will take the oath on January 20th.

At the end of the day, Congress didn't do anything about unemployment benefits before they ran out in July. Here we are 6 full months later, and they've just agreed to it. 90% of the $600/1200/2K is unnecessary it's just a vote-buying/be beholden to your masters maneuver. The only people who need stimulus are those who lost income/hours but weren't unemployed.

No, that is not true. A president does not have the authority to pass a stimulus bill by himself. It has to pass through Congress.
Trump did, by executive order, extend enhanced unemployment benefits to some states because he used FEMA money, which he is allowed to do.
I kind of agree with the reps on this one why are we sending loads of cash to other countries? No wonder this country is in so much debt we load up these bills with pork and give the rest of the population crumbs.
They should cut out the pork then send the 2k checks none of that belongs in a covid/stimulus bill.
If you think Trump is a con artist, he isn't the only one. There are plenty of them in DC and they all reside in the House & Senate. Pelosi is trying to con you into paying billions of dollars (that we don't have) for her stupid pet projects. Con you into paying for a border wall in Jordan while conning you into thinking we don't need one here.
Creepy fragile Biden is trying to con you into thinking he's going to come through on his empty campaign promises. He's already changed his positions on immigration & energy. And let's not forget the ultimate con of his ties to China. Or maybe we should just say lies.
So the bottom line is that there is no shortage of con artists out there, and that includes your liberal governors & mayors that are conning you into lockdowns and believing they're looking after your best interests while they wine & dine at fancy places and spend weekends at Cabo. The joke is on you if you believe a word of any of it.
The meager relief bill that was passed was approved by BOTH parties. And now, ONLY REPUBS are blocking the 2 grand per person trump pretends is suddenly a “must”. Dems immediately approved it. Repubs can’t even be bothered to at least pretend they have compassion and want to help millions of struggling Americans. But I bet they’ll be plenty sorry come election time, because people won’t forget.

The "we are sending loads of cash to other countries" are not part of the stimulus. It is a part of the omnibus spending bill. The stimulus was tacked onto the omnibus spending
