Actually, it more and more helps his case. He's there to protect members of Congress. He did his job.
He might face a question or two on whether or not lethal force was necessary v the unarmed female at that particular time and place. Even with the mission of protecting members of Congress.
One has to remember all Capital Police are there to protect members of Congress -he was the only person in the building to discharge his weapon. I’d be interested in knowing if he spoke to the uniformed cops, as soon as they left (the film shows) the lady jumped forward. And he shot her. She appears to have fallen at the feet of the SWAT lead element and accompanying congressional staffer. When did he first see them? And so on.
You did fine with your description till you got to “no imminent threat”. Imminent threat is subjective. You not being there your call is mere speculation. What is fact she was in the commission of a crime along with hundreds of other rioters. These rioters were fortunate more of them weren’t shot/murdered by police while they rampaged the Capitol and threatened the lives of the VP and others. She paid for her beliefs with her life. I’ve said it before had she protested on the street she’d be alive instead she went from protester to rioter.
The standard is reasonable. It was unreasonable for this officer to shoot the unarmed woman for climbing into a window. I don't have to "be there" to judge what is reasonable. Ever heard of a jury? Put me on the jury and I'm voting for conviction for this needless killing.

She didn’t just climb into a window. She was with a riotous mob. She got killed for it. My vote would nullify yours.

None of that is the standard for justifiably killing someone. They have to be an imminent threat to one's life. This officer should be held to the same standard other officers and non-officer have been held to and prosecuted for shooting a person who was unarmed and was not seriously physically assaulting them or another person. None of this double standard crap because she was white and conservative and the killer wasn't white.
Of course the deliberate killing of an unarmed woman at close range by a police officer demands a serious investigation. Of course the policeman w/attorney will get a chance to give his side of the story. The numerous available tapes of the killing may not be helpful to the Capitol Police officer who fired the only shot in the entire 4-hour Capitol Building episode:
The news comes as the U.S. attorney's office said on Saturday that it would be investigating the deaths at the Capitol, including of the woman who was killed by Capitol Police.
U.S. Attorney Michael Sherwin's civil rights division will be investigating the death of Ashli Babbitt, a Trump supporter who was shot to death by Capitol Police during Wednesday's riot.
There appears to be a media blackout on the name and bio of the shooter. By this time in other police shootings of unarmed civilians that is the sort of info that leads off newscasts and is printed in headlines. Instead the woman who was shot and killed has received the blanket coverage.

Exactly, that cop had no way of know if that woman was armed or not, his job is just to protect the Congress members. He did his job, and deserves a bonus for a job well done.

Agreed.
He protected.
Those climbing thru shattered windows to further their ilk , deserved being stopped.
The bullet protected and served it's purpose.

He has no way of knowing (short of a naked person) who is carrying a gun or bomb. Somebody at that barricade (or any of the other hasty barricades inside the building) could blow up a big bomb. Or whip out a gun and start shooting.
Ditto the hundreds of other cops on the scene in the Capitol Building and ditto the hundreds of protestors on the scene.
Not sure that is a super duper defense for the only guy who fired a shot during the entire episode.
She was part of a violent mob who was trying to over throw our Constitution. The officer gave out ample warning and the people around her saw the Gun. Yelling GUN GUN as can be heard in the video's. She continued out of self control and paid the price. Just another violent felon.
In what country historically, has this type of behavior NOT been rewarded with death?
This is the epitome of White American privilege.
The FBI eliminates all dissidents of color well before they even become fully radicalized. They are silently eliminated.
The fact that QAnon supporters were able to get anywhere near the Capitol is breathtaking. White radicalism is permitted up until the last minute. If she was Black she would have already been detained years ago in an offsite undisclosed location.
