This was all about ambition with Hawley and Cruz, they aren't stupid enough to believe their objection would fly. They put their political futures ahead of country and that didn't work out too well, those two haven't a prayer at a presidential run.

Rejecting to certifying election results is not insurrection.

But if this is going to be the standard, I expect Manchin to sing that same tune for every Democrat member of Congress still in office who voted to object to certification back in 2017, 2005, and 2001.
