Find me where Biden says he is all for illegal immigration when the Obama admin was tough on illegal immigration and Obama was nick name "deporter in chief"

It's easy to honor or support someone who's dead. Where was Joe when his voice would have mattered ? Taking campaign contributions from banks and credit card companies. He's a few decades late on everything. Now that he underperformed with Latinx, bring out the bust.

He even reported some undocumented workers to immigration authorities, Gutiérrez writes.

But through the early 1970s, it became clear that Chavez's position was out-of-step with other Mexican American rights groups.

In 1974, the government announced a plan to deport a million undocumented immigrants, and the Attorney General said the plan had the support of United Farm Workers. Chicano activists erupted, and Chavez denied supporting the proposal.

He explained his shifting position later that year in a November 22 letter to the editor, published in the San Francisco Examiner.

"[T]he illegal aliens are doubly exploited, first because they are farm workers, and second because they are powerless to defend their own interests," he wrote. "But if there were no illegals being used to break our strikes, we could win those strikes overnight and then be in a position to improve the living and working conditions of all farm workers."

Key phrase is in bold. "Rights groups." Not Mexican Americans who are not nearly so in favor of illegal immigration as white woke liberals who use illegals as gardeners and nannys.

For us in the upper middle class, unlimited illegal immigration means lower restaurant prices and lower costs for landscaping and childcare. But its hard on the bottom half as it depresses wages. Its not fair to them.

Uncle Joe is just one of those folks who engage in lazy virtue signaling by putting a picture on the wall or a statue in the office of a certain race, in order to pander to that group.

I say lazy because Joe could have chosen someone more appropriate than Chavez, yet he took the easy copout way because many have heard of Chavez, he was a notable political figure, and he's Mexican. As multiple people have pointed out, Cesar Chavez was rabidly anti-illegal immigrant. He used what would be called racist slurs to refer to illegal immigrants, actively campaigned against illegals (Illegals Campaign), and there are stories of UFW workers using violence against illegals. That our society so eagerly props up Chavez and morphed him into a saint that represents all people of Mexican descent (or even Latinos in general) is beyond me. Even that Cesar Chavez movie that came out a few years ago totally omitted his stance or events associated with the Illegals Campaign.

Joe could have chosen to put a bust of someone like Gus Garcia, a Mexican American attorney in Texas, in his office if he actually gave a darn instead of lazy pandering. Garcia was one of the attorneys in the landmark case, Texas vs. Hernandez (1954), where the Supreme Court made the decision that Mexican Americans as well as those of other nationalities besides Blacks, had equal protection under the 14th amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

But alas, such is our society that no one gives a darn anymore, it's all about the race and image.

don't assume it's gender. Granddaughter is a bigoted term. Please say grandperson from now on.

Chaves was an American, a veteran, and a winner of the Presidential Medal of Freedom. He fought for labor rights at a time when it was really needed. What's wrong with honoring him?

Biden wants amnesty for millions of illegal aliens and no wall on the border that speaks loudly of being for illegal immigration.

Obama was not the deporter in chief. That was debunked over and over. He turned illegals around at the border and counted them as deportations. That's not how it works. He also gave millions of illegal aliens a stay of deportation via DACA and DAPA and instructed Homeland Security not to deport any illegal aliens unless they were "convicted" criminals. His deportation record was dismal.
