Organizations which use the word "black" in their name are promoting a type of prejudice and discrimination against whites. Imagine the reaction if someone started a group White Lives Matter or a cable network called White Entertainment Television. How about a national organization names the National Association For The Advancement of White People.

Everybody has biases. I think the concern is over biases being combined with legal and economic penalties. I.e. it matters far more when the racism has a detrimental effect on ones livelihood and quality of life.

BLM is a racist organization. What I don't understand is the Left is demanding that we unite and all become one. They want a future where equality applies to everyone equally across the board whether you are black, latino, asian, miscellaneous and reluctantly white. BUT by lifting up groups like BLM, heck they have been nominated for a Noble Peace Prize, they are actually separating us further.

Are we supposed to come together or are we supposed to lift up minorities above everyone else ?

It is a divided message and that is discrimination.

Why can't people just be people? I guess that notion doesn't fit well into the identity politics of the Left.

It's really not a hard concept to understand.

You can disagree with BLM's tactics and their stances, but your post reads like junior high-level logic.
Excellent points. You beat me to it.

BET is racist when it was established because other stations would barely allow content from black artists?

I don’t care for the content on those channels generally-speaking but you’re showing your colors OP. You are angry because Black Americans got around white prejudice at the time. You want to eliminate any evidence of that.

I agree.

For the same reasons conservatives feel like they need to start their own news stations and internet platforms.

BLM is an actual organization with a website. White supremacy is a blanket term where the definition changes from person to person. Similar with the term racist, WS is thrown about too casually. Currently the media is guilty of overusing both terms. Some national politicians have also chosen to use both terms when speaking or giving interviews. Most would agree that a politician using those terms to describe any person or group isn't doing so from a unity standpoint.

Currently Caucasian groups are usually banded together based on common European ancestry. There are many groups such as Polish-Americans or Italian-Americans that celebrate their culture. Americans don't seem to have any issues with these groups. If the Euro centric groups joined together and had a name that included either White or Caucasian in it's title, there would be a huge outcry.

America will finally reach the point of unity when all groups can use any descriptor to identify their group or when all groups no longer feel the need to use such adjectives.

How about White Panthers, or White Colleges? Those are racist too. How about Harvard, and Yale admitting Blacks in front of Asians who were better qualified?

Ever gone through the Atlanta Airport...the City of Atlanta people doing the hiring there are 100% racists.

How about minority-owned businesses getting the upper hand on government contracts? Racist.

How about Obama getting 96% of the black vote in 2012...racist.

Do 2 wrongs make a right? I think not. Dr. ML King would not think so either.
