We can at least say that Cuomo's own party is not trying to stick up for him.

Can you imagine a republican doing that to another republican?

Oh Ted... I was just starting to think you might not be so bad.

If the state that you represent is in the middle of a major crisis, ya don't leave and go take your family on a vaca.

You left your family dog with no heat.

You lied about three or so times here about this.

If you are so dumb that you can't see how bad the optics are on this, then ya don't deserve to be in office.

Fact check....what DATE did the freeze occur in Texas? From what I've seen it was Sunday. TODAY would be 6 days. They lost power on Monday.

Biden declared it an emergency and shipped supplies to Texas on....Sunday night. To help a state who wanted to be isolationist by having its own separate power grid that THEY failed to maintain. And yet, Biden offered help without hesitation. And without throwing anyone paper towels.

Ironic that a Republican wanted to cross the boarder to give his family a better life.

Donald Trump Jr hits out ‘Democrat governor’ of Texas... who is actually Republican

The eldest son of former president Donald Trump took to Twitter and hit out at “the hypocrisy of those trying to cancel Ted Cruz,” adding that their silence “on their Democrat Governor’s incompetence is telling.”

Like father, like son.

With the Hefty government discount, the ritz Carleton could certainly give his family a better life. Maybe he had to fly down and show his government id in person to access the better rate.

Hannity had him on last night for an exclusive interview. Cruz said at one point his house was one of the few that had power. His daughters asked him if their friends could stay with them so he and his wife said yes. Cruz said he and his wife were finishing up cooking dinner when they lost power. He had his daughter's friends stay the night and in the morning his daughters asked if they could go somewhere warm. So he talked to his wife and decided to go to Cancun. Cruz admitted he was going to stay only for the weekend, but was going to work remotely. He also said he was in constant contact with his team about the storm. He said he was being advised to come back, and said he began to have second thoughts about staying while at the airport. So he told his wife and kids and their friends that he was going to go back to Texas.

And that's exactly what he did. He came back and is still working. I just find it funny that we now live in a world where so much work gets done remotely, and yet he got so much flack for it. I mean honestly, what would him physically being there do? Would that make the ice thaw faster? He was also taking a moment to be a dad. He's allowed to be a father and a politician at the same time. Many of you would've done the same thing for your family.

Technically you're correct. However if Cruz still has Presidential aspirations he needs to demonstrate his crisis bona fides better than this sorry episode.

So let's say that Senator Cruz needs to be in-state for this disaster. Well then, show me where Nancy Pelosi consistently flew back to and stayed in California when the state was on fire. If she actually did that, then the expectation is not hypocritical. Obviously, nobody was keeping track of whether or not Nancy Pelosi was in state and actively doing something. Consider that for a moment. Nobody on this forum can tell me right off the top of their heads whether or not Nancy Pelosi ever went on vacation while people in her district and state were burning and many of them dying. Why don't we know that??? If we don't know that, then why are we keeping tabs on Senator Cruz???

Short Version: Those who live in glass houses should not throw stones.
California has a months-long wildfire season every year, some worse than others of course, and big fires burn for weeks. It's a fact of life there and there's an infrastructure to deal with it. Plus she's not entirely idle:

This is a once in a generation disaster in Texas. Ted fled.
