There was reason. He was a criminal, had a warrant, and was fleeing.

She messed up, and I will leave it to our legal system to deal with her. Not in stopping him (that was the correct move), but in grabbing her gun when she wanted to use the taser. Wright belonged caged for breaking parole terms, for one thing. It was for a violent offense.

I am NOT sorry Wright is off the streets, though. Since he had violated parole terms, it should have occurred long before this week.

Hopefully, Junior grows up law-abiding, unlike Dad.

And had Daunte Wright complied, he likely would only have been arrested. I don't care what country you are in, what race you are, fighting with cops, resisting arrest or attempting to flee never ends well. I think the cop was a bumbling idiot, but I also understand that the cop has a realistic concern and right to feel threatened.

Only Bullsheeters can stand back and say yep, I would be cool as ice and do it all by the book every time. I dont care what the warrant is for, cool as ice. I dont care how the perp behaves, cool as ice.

I have seen people who have done the annual firefighting training have complete melt downs when faced with a real fire.

Maybe that very senior cop has never had perp be so damned stupid before? Maybe that very senior cop was an affirmative action hire, and promoted under AA guidelines?

The bottom line is that no cop is a mind reader. Daunte was wanted for attempted robbery. Let's be honest cops have a bullseye on them and should feel threatened to start with. All of this would have been avoided and good boy Daunte would still be alive, had he simply done what 99% of us would have done and complied.

What BS. He was killed because the officer mistook her gun for the taser.

There was a reason. The actions of Daunte escalated what should have been a very simple arrest. Maybe that cop was someone who was hired under Affirmative action guidelines? Maybe standards were lowered for her? Maybe she is held to a lower standard than her brother cops because she is a woman? I have seen it where I worked.

Daunte should still be alive. The cop screwed up, but likely wouldn't have had Daunte simply done what 99% of us would have done and complied. I taught my boy Comply comply comply. Swallow that pride and we will let the lawyers settle it.

The only BS is from people giving good boy Daunte a free pass for being criminally stupid. The cop was wrong and choked. No question about it. The question is had Good Boy Daunte simply done what 99% of us would have done, would he have been shot? That is a fair question.

The cop? I would love to know if she was hired under AA guidelines.

By the way you made my point for me... LOL

It’s actually worse, he made bail on that robbery charge but the bail was revoked because he was still getting in trouble.

None of which is shocking and explains why he rather run than get arrested

He needed to be stopped. I wish the cop had grabbed the taser, but stopping him was her obligation to non criminal society.

Letting him flee would have been the worst possible action the police could take.

Yup, but criminals don’t think logically. They think if they resist or flee, the cop is forced to “give up.”

When the cops show up, you’re either getting arrested or shot, it’s up to you.

Yes Good Boy Daunte was simply a misunderstood youth. A gentle soul who was the victim of racist police practices and racist laws against appropriating property from those who have things that you want for yourself. Very sad in deed.
