They did this where I live early in the pandemic. They cut down pull up bars at parks, took down tennis nets and covered basketball hoops. There was caution tape around playgrounds but kids just tore it off. They also wouldn’t allow parking in parks and they even closed a popular sledding hill, It’s insanity.
Seriously, I thought California was being ridiculous for making us wear masks during outdoor tennis when our opponent is 50 feet away, but this is another level of absurd. Why do people let it happen when it goes against all the science and data on how the virus spreads?
Here's the latest for you. US is at a pandemic low of 3.5% over the last week, Canada at 7%.
The link says USA New Cases 54,274, Canada 5,068. Adjust that for population, means if the US number was equal to Canada for new cases, it would be 45,612 and not 54,274.
What does Pandemic Low mean? Are you talking cases, deaths, or what? Your link has no mention of 7 percent that I can see.
However this is just a snapshot in a short period of time.
The US still has 588,238 deaths, Canada 24,106. Again adjusted for population, if the US was the same as Canada you would have 216,954 deaths instead of 588,238.
Your lows, are Canada's highs.
The link I provided in the previous post clearing shows that your comment about the positive test rate is false.
April 26th, USA positive test rate is 7.9 percent, Canada 3.9 percent. The US is doing better than it was, but Canada was never as bad as anyone using that link will see.
There should have been zero tolerance for compliance with the first lockdowns. Sorry to say that the beatings will continue now that the precedent has been set.
Cases are irrelevant, freedom to choose is everything.
Spoke to my uncle in Toronto this morning, and the Canadian part of my family are going out of their minds with overblown lockdowns. Here in California, we've had to deal with the unscientific whims of a narcissistic, power hungry Governor. But padlocked basketball nets are a whole new level of stupidity.

I think it’s crazy to. The mayor of Denver banned playing basketball or tennis at parks even among family members. I don’t understand either why people go along with things that don’t make sense at all.
Canadians have a long history of tolerating government crackdowns on their liberty.
It's nothing new there, or unexpected. They aren't a society based on the concept of Individual Liberty, but rather "The collective good" as interpreted by their rulers.
Wrong....Canada ranked as the top country in the world on the pillar of personal freedom. To compare, our neighbours to the south scored 23rd
Well, it is not a secret that Canada is having a very bad 'second wave': ..... < snip> ..... In short, this is not some willy-nilly thing done to aggravate your uncle. It is a worldwide pandemic, and Canada is in its bullseye now (along with India, of course, which is off the charts).
It's actually our third wave, and this time it's all the covid variants effecting people here of all ages from babies to seniors, but especially young adults. And yes, it's off the charts here too.
Baloney. Per capita the USA now has LESS cases than Canada.
Canda's 7 day rolling average of cases is 8,000. The USA's is 54,000.
The USA has more than 10x the population of Canada.
So even with half of the country with almost no restrictions, we are STILL doing better. Canada should restore the freedoms of their citizens. Their case count will be unaffected.
You'd better check your stats.
Yes, you should check your stats....It's not nearly as bad as you say it is...The rolling seven-day average number of new cases in Canada was 207.27 cases per million people, according to data from Johns Hopkins University and the University of Oxford's Our World in Data explorer. In the U.S., it's 206.66 cases per million people.
