Right. Sure. That's it.

I'm sure it has nothing to do with the indoctrination they get from liberal college profs that never held a real job in their lives.

Why is a professor not a "real job"?

Because anyone with a college degree realizes that what we learn in school is not what is needed for the real world. It's why we have Poly-Sci majors with $120k of debt working as baristas.

Think about it. If you could make twice as much in the private sector, would you teach?

I am a high school sub, and I'll say that our local school system has some excellent teachers. But in college, the vast majority of professors I've had were incompetent. Especially the tenured ones. The few that were really good were the guys that taught part time in addition to actual real jobs.

But Professors have a degree and are using it in the real world, by being a professor.

This is some weird anti-intellectual idea that academia is of no use. If your name is relevant to your faith (can't imagine that it wouldn't be, it would be very odd), your minister would likely have a theology degree. Now, if we're talking real world, theology must be a few rungs down from political science. but I bet you consider his/her job to be a real job in the real world.

Nonsense. I'm probably more educated than most on this forum. I'm not anti-education. And yes, my Pastor has a theology degree. And to be honest, most pastors I've known really don't understand how the real world works, either. They have no clue how the business world operates, because they came out of Bible School or Seminary and went into the ministry at age 24.

What is the 'real world' that you speak of? If the thousands educated as professors, thousands of ministers, thousands of teachers, doctors, lawyers, all of whom will have degrees aren't part of it - what is it?
