I am not understanding these threads/posts; no one is really disputing that we should leave, what is being discussed and Biden criticized about, is how we left.

Pulling out is akin to removing the locks to your front door thinking you don’t need locks to be safe. We weren’t fighting any wars there the last few years. The small number of troops were just doing guard duties. No need to pull out.
The Taliban pacified? I guess you were not paying attention to Afghan affairs for the last 20 years, lol.

You're projecting all this crap that will happen and it's all directly Joe Biden's fault. You have no clue what will happen in the future with the Taliban, with Afghanistan and how well Biden and the US military will assist the refugees to leave and for your information, we haven't had that place secure in almost 20 years.

What a load of pure, partisan bull****.
Funny my post is bull crap because I don’t know what will happen in the future but yet you do.

The place was as secured as it was ever going to be the last few years under Tump. You didn’t see any of this catastrophe when Trump was in office. Taliban was in retreat so much so that instead of fighting, they had beg to sign peace agreements with us. All in just a few months, Biden has managed to turn all that success into a failure. Yeah, it is all his fault.

I'm being a realist today I listen to several interviews with Generals and others. They all said the process to get Afghans out is being micromanaged here in the US by bureaucratic maze of endless red-tape.

I grew up in Southern California 1970s-80s had many friends who were Vietnamese they all had stories of how they escaped after the war. They were horrible stories of being left behind, and parents who send their kids with smugglers only to be caught by the Khmer Rouge. Today the State Department already talking about recognizing the Taliban government as legitimate frankly that might be the only choice here we work with who ever is in charge in that country.

Biden voted for the war in the first place and supported it for 19 years. He doesn't get any credit. It's like getting credit for pulling out after 19 yrs. of raping a woman. Bidden supporters are funny people.

All Biden did was leave allies in that region at the mercy of the Taliban and they will get torture, rape or killed. It was a bad idea to go in which Biden voted for 19 yrs. ago and supported for 19 yrs. but it's worse leaving our allies and interpreters in the wind.

Yes, Taliban was definitely pacified under Trump. Compared to 20 years ago and the years under Obama, Trump did a tremendous job with Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, Syria and the Middle East in general. Everything was just beginning to come together but of course the dumb American public decided things were too good and voted in Biden instead.

Now that the US is out of Afghanistan, you would think they would be ecstatic and clamoring for the US to do the same in every other "s**t hole country" around the world.

Conservatives should be kissing Biden, thanking him for continuing Trump's policies.
Maybe in reality Biden should have.

We spent the past 20 years training the Afghans to protect themselves. If they are not ready to protect themselves after 20 years, when will they be ready?
