Taliban continue to expand their control in Afghanistan with Kunduz being the largest city to fall as the U.S. is ordered to leave. On Friday, the Embassy stated ALL Americans must leave the country immediately, which means all NGOs (USAID, and others) will be leaving the rapidly deteriorating country.

CNN normally puts a positive angle on our efforts in Afghanistan but this article is missing optimism.

What’s next will be the closing of the Embassy. The vacuum can allow Iran and China to benefit from the Afghan resources. What’s next? Will Biden admit defeat in pulling out troops?
How can Biden and the U.S. support if the State department just said “get out now”?

Or more likely allow China to be the next SuperPower (after Russia and the US) to waste blood & $$$ in Afghanistan and walk away empty handed.

We had what? 2500 to 3000 troops over there the last year or so? Basically a hand holding operation rather than a fighting force. Sadly it looks identical to what happened to the ARVN when we brought the last of our troops hope from Viet Nam.

We spent what like 18 years years there? Enough is enough, time to focus our energies and resources on our own country.

LMAO! UN is a joke! A complete and utter joke. I say let Russia handle it. They were at one time but the USA decided to interfere and they are the very reason why Osama Bin Laden was even a threat. The CIA plucked him out as a boy, trained him and gave him money and weapons to fight back against the Russians. CIA former director George Bush couldn't risk Russia getting control of all of those oil fields, so it's why the USA did this.

Biden doesn't have to admit defeat. We lost when our first troops set foot on Afghan soil.

Get out, we created nothing. The government is corrupt, the army is warlords, ghost soldiers and drug addicts. The Chinese will fix it when things settle down.

Get out and stay out.

Democrats too. I was one of them. And it's why I was so ticked when Obama didn't do what he promised he would do when he ran for President. America sticking it's nose into every other country's affairs while ignoring her own people is the change I wanted Obama to do. Instead, he started to jump on the second amendment, only caring about black people when they got shot by cops or non blacks (totally ignoring the crap going on in Chicago) and dividing the country in every way possible.

It's how I feel about the failed war on drugs. America's war on drugs is definitely one of the main reasons why Middle America and South America are run by drug lords. If we allowed the drugs to just be made here, then there would be no reason to smuggle it across the border. And this would put many drug dealers out of business. No money for armed militias or to pay off corrupt politicians. But sadly, the US politicians are just as corrupt and their sole reason for existence is to increase power and money for the super elite with unjust laws and taxes.

Just legalize the crap and let people make the drugs here and buy and sell and use as they please. Just use the same laws already on the books for alcohol or prescription drugs, where if you are intoxicated and cause harm to someone, you will go to jail. But it will never happen in my lifetime. If anything, I can see even more things becoming illegal like salt, sugar and meats.
