He's carefully accepting questions from people known to be friendly to him in the past. And seems to be mostly reading his answers from the teleprompter, or occasionally from the typed notes on the lectern.
One asked him if he is considering sending troops in to help evacuate people in Kabul who can't get to the airport.
He replied that he has not heard anything about people being unable to get to the airport.
That's news to me. I keep hearing on TV news how there are Taliban checkpoints all over Kabul, especially near the airport, and they are stopping most people from getting through, and turning them around and sending them away.
