It’s a first amendment issue. I feel as patriotic as anyone over 9\11 but I also am passionate about the bill of rights.
I've always thought the same, especially regarding the flag. I've said that it's a person's First Amendment right to burn or desecrate the flag.
But I'm changing my mind. It's so rampant now, I'm beginning to think flag desecration or disrespect should be a felony. If the jerks don't like it in the US, just leave. See how that works out. And I don't care if the person is youngster and it impacts his future.

I don’t know. The first amendment is the great queen mother of all the civil rights, and was put in place to protect those who have unpopular opinions. I don’t think we should quell that. Demanding that everyone show respect to the flag seems distinctly unAmerican.

My issue is it wasn't his property and he had already been stopped by campus police from the flags the day before.
He's middle eastern? Or he's a Dem (leftist)? Or both?
That would be my question, hearing such name as "Fadel."
If a middle easterner (and that's what it sounds like,) then it's a bigger problem than just a "man bun."

This is very nuanced. This display was put there by a university club, on public property, and he didn’t damage anything. The fact that the cops kept him away the night before I’m not sure Is material. He certainly seems to know his stuff if you read more recent articles about the incident.
