10. Without FDR, we would be speaking German right now.
It isn't clear that Hitler could defeat the Soviet Union, plus the Japanese wanted to control all of East Asia and the Western Pacific. A Japanese empire today would be more than two billion people. About three times the population of Europe.
Germany's policy was for autarky within the historical territories controlled by Germanics and Baltics prior to the Hunnic invasions. He basically wanted to kick out what he considered foreign invaders, and then put a big wall around Europe, forever.
A lot of Americans have never forgiven him for defeating Hitler and the Nazis. We should be giving thanks to FDR and the anti-fascists storming the beaches of Normandy much more often.

You just made that up or in your house they couldn't afford a set of Britannica? FDR didn't defeat the Germans by himself. He was a walking corpse on a wheelchair and didn't have enough energy to even take a dump without struggle in his final years. His staff was barely keeping him alive with drugs. It was a long list of armies, generals and field commanders from all the allies especially the Red Army that defeated the Germans. If it wasn't for the Red Army the war would have continue past Truman. By the way, Stalin didn't defeat the Germans either. It was his generals and army despite of Stalin stupidity and incompetence and jealousy. Stalin and FDR were friends.
We couldn't deal with the Koreans or Vietnamese in 2 countries by ourselves but We would have defeated Germany in the whole continent of Europe who were light years advanced than those 2 Asian countries combine by an old sick man on a wheelchair? thanks for the laugh.

A very ignorant and uneducated statement that knows nothing about military and numbers. Germany never invaded the U.S. or wanted to or had the means to occupy the U.S. across the Atlantic. He didn't have the Navy or the Army to come to the U.S. and take over and make us speak anything even if 90% of the population of Germany came. He had his hands full just with the Red Army on the East and the Allies on the West.
If the U.S. didn't enter the European war, Germany would have been defeated by the Red Army alone. It would have taken a few years more but the Red Army would have wipe the floor with the whole German country. They could have taken the whole continent of Europe after Germany but there was a silly thing call Atomic bombs and then nukes on our side that gave them pause.
I guess FDR was the only person in the U.S. that could of ran our military and War department and intelligence. An old dying sick man on a wheelchair being kept alive with drugs and P.R. running the show. Thanks FDR. We would have lost the war if he was never elected. We would be speaking German right now. LOL.
Like everything socialist. Social Security was a great idea at first then like everything else socialist it turns mediocre. S.S. today is a bad system with a lousy return.
We won the war and surrendered at war's end to the rising Soviet bloc by the way Roosevelt designed the U.N. That is why I find him akin to Quisling and Leval.
. . . From the State of Emergency, in 1933, the constitution was legally bypassed. Thanks to FICA (1935), Americans embraced "voluntary" communism (however, they were told it was mandatory to sign up). And the fiduciary agent for the bankrupt US Gubmint was (wait for it) the FEDERAL RESERVE. And the fiduciary agent for the U.N. is .... the FEDERAL RESERVE. And the U.S. governor of the World Bank, IMF, etc, etc, is the Sec'y of Treasury, who shall not be paid by the U.S. gubmint. He shall be paid by the fiduciary agent for the "Bank" and "Fund", which is the FEDERAL RESERVE.
And thanks to 12 USC Sec. 95a, 95b, the governor / sec'y of treasury is delegated sweeping powers PRE-APPROVED by CONgrizzzz.
. . . .
America has been owned and operated by the international banking interests for decades. And if you aren't sure of their pervasive propaganda, consider that yuletide classic : "It's A Wonderful Life."
The movie is about a nice usurer who is saved by an apprentice angel, from committing suicide. If you know your history, usurers are relegated to the lowest level (worst) of the inferno (See: Dante's Divine Comedy). All religions I checked proscribe usury as an abomination. But the movie depicts heaven sending an ANGEL to aid the usurer? Yeah, right.
And there's more. . . When the movie first came out, it tanked. But TV stations were granted low cost / free rights to rebroadcast it during the Holidays, making it into a cult classic. Now, we all can feel good about a lovable abomination saved from from from . . . whoa.
