My Ryobi handheld battery-powered leaf blower does the same job in 2 hours, not including the time spent charging batteries, and we have three batteries and two chargers.

Usually we replace the batteries every 2 years. We also buy fresh gas twice a year, for our 2-gallon gas can+ Stabil and 2-cycle oil, cost is less than one single Ryobi battery.

That 4 gallons of unleaded supports 2 Stihl leaf blowers, 1 Husqvarna chain saw, a Husqvarna brush cutter and a Stihl gas trimmer, for one year. We have a big yard and I help the neighbors sometimes for free. Anything is better than the vacuum cleaner my wife insists on using daily.

Ryobi is low end compared to Stihl what about Dewalt blowers?

By the time I got back into it a few years ago, practically everything is electric. We are talking very small motors. They still sell nitro RC cars but the vast majority of hobby and competitive RC racing is on electric.

For very good reason....

Even the most advanced RC nitro cars are topping out at 75mph. Most are doing around 45mph. An entry level electric RC car is already doing 35mph. That is out-of-the-box costing less than just my nitro engine by itself. I have one electric that does 80mph. There are electric RC cars 100mph out of the box and customized electric doing well over 100mph. They are also less maintenance, easier to tune, a lot less parts to break not too mention cheaper.

On the track, they are dominating as well... They have more power and torque is instant. If anything, you have to be careful that the torque from the electric motor doesn't destroy your differentials (which are steel by the way) much more so than gasoline.

I will say that everything you assume is incorrect... especially when you say "never". It has already happened in the world of RC cars.

PS. The Guinness world record for a internal combustion RC car is 85.66 mph. The Guinness world record for an electric RC car is 202.02 mph.
But we're talking about tools placed under heavy working load. Hugh difference from making RC cars with rubber wheels go faster.
