I would like to know of ONE person that hasn't done or said the wrong thing at some point in time.
I have, but nobody was taping the former and I wasn't dumb enough to put the latter in writing.
It was felony stupid to put in e-mails what Gruden did in 2011. It was a long time ago but anyone with sense would have known better. E-mail and the internet weren't new.
Gruden insulted many different groups with his e-mails. If it was just the one from last week I'd consider it a temporary lapse in judgement. I was surprised he got canned until I found out about the others. No way he could stay after that.

Wrong. I’m pretty sure there’s at atleast one picture or post throughout your social media history dating back 10+ years ago that you wouldn’t want you your employer to see or find. Whether it was a non-politically correct rant, ramble, or argument with another poster, etc.
The difference is no one gives a damn since we’re just average Joes.

Gruden’s transgressions were over a long period of time.
I know you agree with him on race, sexuality, and his general attitude but a pattern of behavior like this is indefensible to us normal folks.
So? Had this come to light....15 years ago, we all would have laughed, and Gruden would not have got fired.
Today, white hetero men can say nothing without being "offensive".
This is effectively An American NEO-APARTHEID. And Gruden is another victim of this neo-apartheid.
Gruden's probably $40MILLION stuffed away, and unlike a low-IQ loser like Lebron, he will be wise with his fortune...
Uh no. It wasn't OK 15 years ago and it's not OK now. Sorry, there's not some statute of limitations on this BS. What a dumb defense of someone with clearly a history of this.
Sounds like a smart move by the Raiders organization (although as another poster said, hard to believe this wasn't discovered when he was vetted). Clearly it was but they thought no one would find out about it. The worse thing they could do is look the other way on this (but I guess you're not intelligent enogh to realize this would hurt the organization's bottom line).
Gruden now wears a Scarlett Letter (something $850 million doesn't wash off).
He called someone well deserving of criticism s gay slur. That’s different then a direct attack on gays. Still wrong, but its indirect. I guarantee you 75% of the entire league would call Roger something worse. Nobody likes him. Gruden was an old school guy, this is how the act, it’s sarcastic insults, with a humorous undertone. When I played high school football, I’m not even going to repeat the things my coach called referees and some of us players from time to time. We didn’t really think of it as anything insulting on this level back then it was just a way to get peoples attention. We’ve become way way way too sensitive in this country.

You might wants to familiarize yourself with the morals clause in the NFL. It's been around for quite some time (hardly a recent event).
