Out of fear?

When the Rich were complaining about Roosevelt's Social programs during the Depression, which could cost the rich some money in extra taxes, Roosevelt told the rich: You either pay more or, through a revolution, you'll lose all of it!

And back then there was even a Communist party which probably really scared the rich!

Why should any American citizen pay a higher, or lower percentage of their income in taxes than any other American citizen?

The rich already pay more than their fair share of taxes. There's no need for them to say that.

Turn your anger towards Congress who cannot seem to comprehend there is only so much money to go around.
Congress spends more than the money coming in and you are angry at rich people ?
Why..because Congress told you to be mad at them ?

It's called deflection. Congress cannot live within their budget and it's rich people's fault ?

example: we have SEVEN fully funded, fully staffed milk programs. Why ? We only need ONE...milk for everyone. See how much money that alone would save ?

It’s far past time for people to stop collectivizing “the rich” as a category of inherently bad people. STOP IT. JUST STOP IT.

That's your example? lol FDR presided over the longest and worst depression because his polices prolonged it and we should listen to him?

Why don't we listen to the Cincinnati Bengals on how to win a Super Bowl? because like FDR is with economics, they stink at it.

You didn't know when the rich create jobs, it's a bad thing. Yea, I don't get that either.

what is the rich? because the ultra wealthy 1% will never notice anything the government imposes on them because they have teams of smart people to shield their money and they have influence with powerful people. As the rest of us just get pushed to be poorer.

I can’t believe how collectively ignorant and brainwashed people have become about wealth. They seem to have zero understanding of the concept that WEALTH IS NOT A PIE. You aren’t robbed of your slice by someone else getting a bigger slice. The pie is perpetually baking and growing all the time. Any American can pull slices off the pie any time they want through hard work and smart spending. America is like a bakery that makes pie 24/7.

Because they are told over and over by Congress that the rich aren't "paying their fair share".
Tell a lie enough times and it becomes the truth.
