I live in Tucson, and is there any reason they need to keep Monathan Air Force Base open when we have Luke in PHoenix, Creech and Nellis in Las Vegas, and Edwards in Lancaster. Any time it comes up, close it down or not, the cry is it will impact the economy in Tucson. Neglecting to say it would be a relief to taxpayers.
And how many more bases could shut down in this country and still keep the country safe?
Do you remember the Base Realignment And Closure Commission of 1993? They closed MCAS El Toro and March AFB along with almost a dozen other bases, so it happens
I wished more high schools teach finance and business so we go back to becoming a capitalist country than heading towards communism.
Now that China is steering more and more towards capitalism and economic prosperity while we are heading the other way.
I met a Chinese immigrant, no high school or college degree already a millionaire owns 2 properties he rents out in NYC suburbs. Drives a Lexus and on the side he sells restaurant equipment he gets from China, he has relatives in China that helps him ship the goods here and he operates as a restaurant lending and leasing shop. He delivers the equipment to chinese restaurants and bills them a monthly rate with interest.
I wish more Americans learn how to do business instead of complaining about how to tax the rich or how to get the government help them more.

Economics is still taught in high school, but when wages are dropping while prices rise, expect pushback against the system allowing it to happen.....

Unfortunately what you just described is exactly why the US is on the decline. Even more unfortunate, many Americans want this to happen.
No one should work more than 40 hours/week at any job in the US to pay for food, clothing, housing, education, health care, child care and transportation. Anything less than that is a substandard wage.
