Price increases (which are just a symptom of inflation, not inflation itself) are already as bad or nearly as bad as the worst years of the 70s (using honest stats, not the cooked CPI), and this is just the beginning.

Wages haven't kept up with inflation and/or cost of living for many decades now.

You post as if this is some kind of new problem.

Current inflation rate is 5.4%

Higher than recent years, but hardly “insane”.

Quarter pounder, fries and drink combo is $11.28. Not that I would ever eat that crap.

So you have a 50 gallon gas tank? What do you drive? Gas has gone up by about $1 per gallon.

I rarely post on CD, but you obviously creeped my last post in another topic to make your response here.

I'm flattered that you are so interested in what I have to say ---- but don't worry, I won't look up any of your post history, since I'm pretty sure it won't be worth my while to read anything you've written based on just a few sentences you've shared in this topic alone.

Besides......People who "creep" posts are just.........creepy anyway.

Consumer goods are up 5% or so. That doesn’t tell nearly the whole story because it excludes food and energy and housing.

Global food prices are up 33%.

US house prices are up 18% over last year.

Rents are up 9%.

Gasoline as of today is on average up 56% from one year ago. (Gas prices are the highest they’ve been in 7 years).

Used car prices are up an average of 32.7%.

Considering the largest amount of monthly expenses are put towards housing, food, car payment and fuel, this is extremely bad.

The illegal aliens getting paid half a million dollars by the Biden regime should be able to handle a little inflation.

We have been through inflation before and we have always survived. Covid really did a number on us though. But we will survive like we always do.
