My point is the fact that he played for the Negro league is irrelevant. Achievements/merit/excellence should be celebrated and considering Brandon keeps spouting on about inclusion and diversity, he should celebrate the achievements, not his race.

Not allowed? People can use any word they want. This group should change its name. It’s blatantly racist.
The Negro leagues were before Jackie Robinson...they were not the "black" leagues not African-American leagues as those terms were not yet in common usage...
incidentally many black owned businesses went under when the color line was broken
And people want to, terrorize and put down which is given. Which anyone not old, including an old legacy name of organizations, would be doing by choosing to use Negro in this day. They are activing trying to pick a fight and then say 'what did I do", while knowing exactly what they did. Which is why the thread was spawned when an old man reverted. When Archie Bunker used "colored" no insult was intended even if the Meathead shook his head by the use of e term the was closer in time to its actual use than Negro is in America today to its being dropped for common usage and supplanted by first Black and then African American by the mid 1970s.
