What part of the Sixth Amendment would that be? The Six Amendment guarantees the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury and to have assistance of counsel for the defence.

I would argue that the judge is depriving him of his Sixth Amendment right to have counsel.

The Sixth Amendment does not say WHO that counsel has to be. Faretta v California. In 1975, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that it is constitutional to let a defendant represent himself/herself in a court of law. It is within reasonable bounds of the Sixth Amendment.

The Six Amendment guarantees the right to have the "assistance of counsel for his defence". If he is defending himself, he will have no assistance.

Predictable. They are now continuing without him in the courtroom. This is not an appropriate way to conduct a fair trial

Probably, but probably not before a mistrial.

Based on the sov cit strategy he appears to at least partially be utilizing, the whole point is to create disruption and confusion in order to prolong the trial and increase the probabilities of technical errors occurring.

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Just days before Darrell Brooks' trial, his mother is opening up about her concerns for what her son is capable of and what he might do in court.

Jury selection begins Monday in Waukesha, and Brooks will represent himself against dozens of counts tied to his alleged role in the Waukesha parade tragedy.

His mother Dawn Woods predicts a quick trial, saying her son has no defense.

She says Brooks suffers from mental illness and she's angry with the judge for allowing him to represent himself in court.

She does not think it will go well.

Dawn Woods said, "I can see the storm coming."

The storm she fears is another emotional, manic outburst from her son Darrell Brooks once his homicide trial begins.

She said she has seen "Shouting, acting out, it's throwing chairs, it's destroying things. It's all of the above. It's like someone setting off a time bomb."

Dawn has been trying to defuse that time bomb for 40 years.
