We have reports from South Africa that the variant causes symptoms similar to the common cold. But we will see as the new variant passes through the US and our relatively unhealthy, obese population.
Initial reports from the UK also show more mild symptoms but again early.
And 6 months from now we will hear "Omicron seems to be a very mild form of COVID..but it is still too early to tell"
I really hope that the parents who are very likely paying for their students at these private schools stand up against the school. If they are going to force the students to be vaccinated under the promise of being able to keep a "normal" experience, but still close when there is an "outbreak" what is the purpose. Hit the schools where it hurts, in the pocketbook, and I bet you would see their "COVID policies" change overnight.
My, my... how could this be after the magic vax has been injected into all the guinea pigs? Now they are all getting sick. One would question the effectiveness of a vaccine that doesn't work in the real world. But then, we are no longer in the real world. We are in liberal fantasyland.

Two shots or prior infection apparently have little effect on the omicron variant. We will have a million cases a day or more in the US in a couple weeks. It's too late to get protection now. Unvaxxed and vulnerable - prepare to meet your maker.
So far, the cases of omicron have overwhelmingly been in those fully vaxxed and thankfully so far there has been only 1 death “with” Omicron.
Why the fear mongering?

I have no fear - I am boosted! There is no better place to be right now when staring down omicron.
Hahaha!! Did you miss the sentence where they said the vast majority of the students are fully vaccinated and some even boosted?
The “vaccines” don’t work unless you’re old and/or have comorbidities. If you’re healthy and young - in other words, a college student - Covid doesn’t (except in rare cases) give you severe illness regardless of whether you got the shot or not, so how do you come up with ‘lessens severity’ for these kids?
Our school district just put out a reminder for masks and distancing because “cases are rising”. Then at the end of the letter they listed symptoms. Nothing worse than the cold that goes around every winter (even before Omicron), and illness lasting an average of two to three days. Oooooh, scary!!!

It really won’t surprise me in the least if we eventually find out being vaccinated actually made us more susceptible to Omicron.
