No matter how hard it might be to migrate here legally it is never right to support or sympathize with illegal aliens who thumbed their noses at our immigration laws, took jobs from Americans by working for less, committed felony ID theft, tax evasion, overcrowded our schools, jails, hospitals, roads and neighborhoods and depleted our natural and social resources. They cost us over $100 billion a year!

As I said, I research the issues myself before forming an opinion and it's never based on emotion it's always based on the rule of law and common sense and what is best for our country and law abiding citizens. My compassion is for them not foreign invaders. No one has the right to a better life by breaking laws and taking from others what doesn't belong to them. Too bad the liberal left just deals in emotion rather than common sense and respecting our laws. It would be an eye opener to them to research this issue as I did and keep their emotions out of it.
If the U.S. wanted only legal citizens here, it would be so. Left and right both benefit from their presence. And having known some and their stories, I have grown to sympathize with the majority who are just trying to survive. Do I think they should do it legally? Yes, of course. I have personally helped 4 become legal. And, no, I am not some leftist or hater of America. But I totally get why some do what they have to do for themselves and their families. Nobody is inherently a more deserving person for having the luck to be born in America.

I don't see any Americans out in the fields willing to pick your $.39 oranges. What I do see are a bunch of cry baby American hypocrites the second anything gets slightly more expensive. If you think food is expensive now, lose the cheap labor and see what happens. Where do you think billionaire Republican David Purdue gets all that cheap crap he sells in his Dollar General stores? From suppliers that use illegal cheap labor.

Your post just makes me feel bad for those around you. Things are not as black and white as you think they are. And FYI, those who think they know all there is to know, are the ones who know the least.

You are a part of the problem then. As I said, no one has a right or deserves a better life by breaking laws and taking from other what doesn't belong to them. Sorry, that you have so little respect for our laws and the rightful citizens of our country. Our government has no right to go against their own laws that they pass themselves. Are you using that kind of corruption as some kind of a justification for illegal immigration?

Americans have worked in the fields so what are you talking about it's just that it's not a career job for them unless they live on a farm. There are unlimited visas for "legal" foreign crop pickers and most illegals aren't picking crops anyway they have taken once good paying blue collared jobs from Americans. Food would not go up much at all without the presence of illegal pickers here. Compare it to what illegals actually cost us and they are of no benefit to regular Americans.

I'm not defending those greedy employers who hire illegals aliens as they are breaking the law to increase their profits but no one drags these illegals over the border to work here either. They and their greedy employers are equally guilty of breaking the law!

Yes, our laws are black and white. The rights and needs of Americans are black and white to. I know plenty about illegal immigration. I researched the downfalls for an extended time apparently you haven't or don't care anyway as your emotions and misplaced compassion for them outweighs any compassion you have for Americans who have been negatively impacted by illegal immigration. It's shameful!

My conscience is clean. I would do it again. In fact, I will take a humble, hardworking person escaping violence as a neighbor every day of the week.

Most of them aren't escaping violence they are coming here for economic opportunity on the backs of the U.S. taxpayer/worker! Americans work hard to so where the hell do you think you are going with this? Are you unaware why we have annual quotas for legal immigration?

If your conscience is clear supporting foreign law breakers who are raping our country fiscally, committing felony ID theft and tax evasion and taking jobs from Americans by working for less to make the rich, richer and depleting our natural and social resources and overcrowding our facilities then I don't know what to tell you. We can't be the saviors to the whole world's needy by allowing them all into our country. It would be committing national suicide not that you seem to give a damn!

Kindly don't reply to me anymore as I am feeling sick to my stomach reading your anti-American posts!

I think that is a little over the top. We are a better country for our diversity. What would Jesus do?

People said the same thing about the Jews, the Irish and the Italians during their immigration waves. Everything was fine. Everything will be fine. The media is taking a problem and making it apocalyptic. Have some compassion.

Remember, a Republican is a Democrat mugged by reality.

I beat stage IV cancer, went into more medical debt than my entire yearly take-home salary (with insurance!) in less than 6 months, lived in 3 different countries, got two degrees without going into debt or taking money from my parents by 25. I broke into 6 figures, developed a few side gigs, and managed over 100 people by 33. How much more mugged by reality should I get before that mugging proves all the democratic socialism of my youth incorrect? Just curious.

Been reading the posts. All was ok until 9-11. My life went to the dogs with the economic mess it left, then the housing crisis. Luckily I landed a Fed position. My eyes were OPENED! Now I was on the inside looking at facts not listening to commentators or politicians.
Sorry to tell you - but most people have drank the cool aid on both sides of the fence. Never, ever think the elected officials care squat about you. Every single move has a price ticket. They light a match to see who can get riled up - later they drinking together over a Rueben. I worked in DC. We must hold these folks accountable. The blame is cast on the opposite side when one side messes up. Lots of smoke screen to get our eyes off what going on. Diversion and deflection 101. If we want true governing we must :
Remove all lobbyists forever and “time” Limits in all elected officials!
Most hold on to their side like it’s baby Jesus. But in DC they all playing marbles with the corporate boys and foreign leaders. It’s not about us anymore.
FYI - Russia is our enemy as is China. Russia is in competition - China wants to own it all. Lots of dirty pool. Now this is the governments. People are just people. Work, eat and try to raise a family. There’s nice people from all over the world. Not their fault they too have crappy leaders.

Yes.

May conservatives were former liberals until they realized how far and radical the left has become.

After the term of Obama, there was a red wave of new people now leaning right, as many realize how foolish they were for falling for hope and change.

When I was in high school, I believed that everyone should have free healthcare. Then I learned that the government doesn't have anything to give without first stealing from somebody else.

Do you believe others should be forced, against their will, to pay for your medical bills?
