Florida setting records for hospitalizations and infections and his focus is monoclonal antibodies not vaccines and boosters.

Quote:
“In terms of Florida, you look what’s going on in other states, they’re letting hysteria drive them to doing really damaging things. We thought that people had learned,” DeSantis said during his first news conference in weeks on Monday after record-setting COVID-19 numbers spread across the state last month. “They’re closing schools, they’re doing things that should not be done. That is not the way you deal with this.”

“You even see some of these TV doctors on CNN admitting that cloth masks are not going to stop—protect against Omicron,” DeSantis said. “Simply putting cloth over and thinking that somehow that is going to provide good protection, that’s just not accurate.”

I think there is some hysteria going on with the high number of "positives".
The CFR for Florida is only 1.5% so everyone who catches it is not dying.
The data does not match up to the media hysteria.

And the hospitals are not filling up with covid patients:

Thank you. It just goes to show how the OP’s whole premise for this thread, based on a biased liberal source is disingenuous.

Bingo

The hysteria is wayyyy overblown and has been. But lots of $$$ to be made in media fearmongering.

Default Masks are a Placebo

Masks are one to two layers of cloth. Are they effective in screening Covid virus? Put the mask on and spray the air in the room with perfume. If you can smell the perfume through the mask, a Covid virus can slip through too. DUH!

Case counts don't matter. I oppose vaccine mandates but the evidence is pretty cut and dry vaccines prevent hospitalizations. The obese and people over age 60 should be getting boosted. Under age 25 it literally doesn't matter. In the end it's their choice though. I'm not particularly concerned either way now that I've been mask free since early December.

People can believe what they want....but people who don't want a vaccine but are willing to take monoclonal antibodies which themselves are an experimental treatment, one that is far more expensive, to me is a bit silly.

If you do care about case counts, it's silly to blame Biden for it as a republican. It's treating this virus in a rather casual manner like I do, going to one super spreader event after another during Christmas like I did, as someone who took his booster 2 weeks ago and feels invincible...an asymptomatic super spreader...this is what spreads covid around. . The R-naught value of omicron is about as high as they come. It's going to spread.

Reddit lefties would have me shelter at home and mask up forever to protect the unboosted...no thanks. Freedom is good. The elderly can stay at home...their kids can contact them via a video streaming app if they are worried about catching covid. I believe in the great Barrington declaration.

And yet Florida is having one of the best tourist seasons yet.

Millions flocking here.

Roads, restaurants, beaches packed.
