This is a county thing.
There are 7300 +/- restaurants in Chicago. Given there are 130 municipalities in Cook Count, it’s likely the number of restaurants county- wide are in excess of 12,000. Gotta write a few citations to make it look real.
In November 2021 the Governor ordered all indoor drinking/ dining venues to close as Covid was surging. With the exception of national chains, the order was mostly ignored and obvious about it.
Lori Lightfoot is a "law and order" mayor, defy her vaccine orders by fines can be up to $10,000.
Amazing, how Lori Lightfoot allows violent gang members to take over her Chicago but serve dinner to someone without a vaccine or allow an unvaccinated 5 years inside a recreational facility and she will send law enforcement to write a big ticket.
One of Lightfoot's law enforcement deployments was to a "children's play place" because children 5 or older must be vaccinated to enter recreational facilities.
She is also summoning law enforcement and citing small mom and pop restaurants and fitness centers for having unvaccinated patrons eating inside small restaurants and working out without full vaccination.

Well I hope you are spot on, that Covid is over.
Having said this there is no certainty of the durability of immunity derived from a prior infection, especially as it relates to new variants. It remains the great unknown.
some clarification would be helpful. Like, surely Chicago cops aren't proactively (or plainclothes) seeking businesses that don't enforce so they can pop them.
Chicago voters are stupid. They will keep voting democrat and they’ll keep killing each other.
The dead voters are even dumber they been this way more then 100 years!
