There are about 20,000 restaurants in the city and according to local media, 16 were cited for failure to comply., early on.
And you can be just about guaranteed that those establishments were "targeted" for enforcement.

I bet not one of those establishments cater to the "liberal elite"

LL is theoretically concerned about saving lives.

She figured covid killed more people than the accumulated murders in her town.

She figures the unvaccinated and the unvaccinated with antibodies are on a par with gang members fighting for territory and revenge for being dissed.

So covid trumps daily chicago murder rate? Of course there is an equivalence that must be considered between covid deaths and innocnet lives lost to gang shootouts.

Hey LL, the average gang member is 15 years old!

LL should not go to sleep until she takes steps to end the violence by firing the prosecutor, getting rid of activists judges, back the cops. Declare resisting arrest may result in a death sentence so DO NOT RESIST ARREST! Resisting arrest will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, cash bail, and followup on outstanding warrants. LL should be all over biden mayorkas, harris for closing the border to reduce drugs, gang recruitment and the unvaccinated illegal aliens dropped off by the biden administration. LL can kill two birds with one stone with that approach to Biden?

100 blacks will shoot each other every weekend but let’s pull the cops off the streets and have them patrol small businesses. It’s the literal interpretation of anti BLM on their own community.

Thank you for the list which shows just 11 out of 20,000 +/- restaurants in the city were cited for non- compliance.

I am unaware that restaurants distinguish between the political ideology of their patrons.

The Illinois Restaurant Association has opposed all restrictions going back to 2020. This trade association, like most, lobbies Congress to replenish the Restaurant Revitalization Fund and to provide up to $26,000 per employee tax credit to help restaurants retain employees.

Most restaurants don’t provide benefits to their employees and base pay trends low. No surprise, restaurants are challenged to retain employees during what has become the Great Resignation. Quitters are not eligible for state unemployment benefits.

For the super majority of people, dining out is a discretionary activity.

Do you seriously not think that different restaurants cater to different clientele or are you just trying to be obtuse and putting out strawmen?

Can you really say that McDonald's or a child's play place caters to "elites"? Most politicians wouldn't be caught dead in those places unless they were trying to campaign and get people's votes.

You said it yourself, you dine out extensively and have yet to be asked for proof. Yet she only selected 16 restaurants?

This has nothing to do with the RR Fund, this has nothing to do with employee pay. This has nothing to do with people's discretionary spending. This has to do with a mayor instead of tacking things such as black-on-black shootings, rising theft, and violent crime rates. She is sending out "task forces" to go after small businesses because a business has to decide between allowing some to eat inside a resturant and getting fined out of existence or losing the customer and having to shut down anyways.

Illinois officially became a sanctuary state in 2017. Former Republican Governor signed off on it.

The 8 year old, Melissa Ortega and her family arrived from Mexico in August to pursue the American Dream which sounds like code speak for undocumented.

The child was shot and killed crossing a street while holding her mother’s hand in the middle of the day.

Backstory: 2 thugs were watching another thug when the observed thug threw a gang sign. Can’t have that. A gun battle ensued and in the midst, the 8 year old was shot and killed.

CPD were able to track the movement of the shooters including the Subway shop where they proceeded to break bread and laugh it up, shortly after killing the girl.

The shooter is 16 years old and on probation after pleading guilty to 2 out of 3 armed car jackings.

No bail for this thug, now. Some are protesting the lack of bail.
The dead girl’s mother issued a statement via her attorney, that she forgives the shooter for killing her daughter and made clear the city let him down.

The shooter’s public defender is blaming the gang member who threw the gang sign as he provoked the gun battle.

And yesterday, people took to the street to demand free mental health clinics in their community to end the gun violence.

The county, not the city, sets bail, prosecutes, sentences and parole.

No wonder even the national media makes fun of lori lighthead for claiming she will protect illegals when they come to her city, a city famous for its violence and kids being killed

Do you know Chicago’s neighborhoods? If you did you could see a pattern to the 11 restaurant citations which were spread throughout the city. Some were independents and some are chains. Same deal with gyms/ sporting places. Areas with populations with enough discretionary spending attract businesses like a swim school.

There is no shortage of vocal groups throughout the US demanding their mayors and governors and DC “ do something” about Covid. Been going on for 2 years now. And at one time or another, most mayors and/ or governors , regardless of their political stripes, have issued orders restricting something or another.

As it relates to the latest , requiring patrons to show proof of vaccine to enter, is nothing more than window dressing- a bone to those vocal about the “ do something” thing. Beyond an initial very limited example, there is no enforcement going on and no evidence the 130 municipalities in Cook county are playing ball.

As for Lightfoot, she is toast, despite being more moderate than many of the elected city alderman.

Thus far, 1970 remains the deadliest year for homicides in Chicago in terms of raw numbers. Back the. There was no internet, online news or social media.

Last year, CPD took more than 12,000 firearms off the street. Most were taken in the roughest neighborhoods. It has not made a dent.

That a 16 year old, recently convicted of 2 armed car jackings and given probation can easily get his hands on another firearm and engage in a middle of the street gun battle with a rival gang member, in the middle of the day, says it all.

The county, not the city, sets bail, prosecutes, sentences and paroles.
