Wouldn't Spotify lose income revenue anyway since Neil sold 50% of the rights to his catalogue to a UK firm?

I don't know how this stuff works but if Neil no longer owns the rights to many of his own songs - they wouyldn't be allowed to be played on Spotify right. " The deal gives Hipgnosis the rights to the worldwide copyright and income interests from 1,180 songs composed by Young, and has been reported to have cost around $150 million. "

Neil Young? Joni Mitchell? Nils Lofgren? Have any of these fossils released anything a Spotifiy subscriber doesn't already have on vinyl gathering dust in their garage?

Neil sure did a great job at bringing out the truth for vaccinations, questionable activity by the Governments and censorships by his bonehead move.

It made me listen to the Dr. Malone interview today with Rogan which really puts a light onto what has been going on with Covid and world we entered last year with the censorship. 100% worth listening to no matter where you are politically because its the basis of the truth of what's happening in the country.
Neil Young is turning into one of Joe Rogan's most successful promoters. Rogan gained over 100k Twitter followers in the past week. I think a lot of people who have never paid any attention to Joe Rogan before will tune in to his podcast now.

Rogan is being pressured by spotify corporate overlords, his podcasts are going to start with a "COVID information" warning now

Rogan needs to jump to Blaze or Dailywire or something. Mussolini's definition of fascism was:
"the lucrative merger of corporations and the state"

Rogan seems more understanding of this whole controversy than most of the right wingers on this thread.

Quote:
Podcaster Joe Rogan apologized on Sunday to anyone who is offended by his frequent broadcast of misinformation about the coronavirus and the vaccine as pressure increases against Spotify, which hosts his show.

“If I pissed you off, I’m sorry,” Rogan said on Instagram. “And if you enjoy the podcast, thank you.”

“I’m very sorry that they feel that way,” he said. “I most certainly don’t want that. I’m a Neil Young fan. I’ve always been a Neil Young fan.”

Fatuous? Whatever, dude. 1/4 is quite a lot of loss to me, feel free to differ as you will.

Come on now, be honest. Spotify was trading at $121 when insiders got wind of the Rogan exclusive deal back in April 2020. On the day of the actual announcement, May 19, 2020, the stock was at 175. and eventually shot up as high as 364.

Overall the Rogan deal is still a net positive on the stock price, and definitely in terms of millions of new users added
