I honestly don't know whom these investigations makes look worse, Trump or Democrats.
Guy does business in NY for decades and when he runs afoul of the politicians out come the waves of investigations. If he never runs for office, these investigations are squashed immediately after some political donations.
Also, not really understanding why Trump hunting is even a good idea. He's probably the guy that could lose to a democrat in 2024 where at this point someone like Desantis would clobber Biden based upon current polling.
That leaves the likely real option and that's posturing for niche popularity and of course click-bait. If you're in a heavily democratic area, going after Trump is a good way for a politician to get their name in papers and raise their political stock. (Repubs did this all the time with Hillary etc.)
