That the Ukrainian army had 8 years of 'practice-fighting' for this invasion also doesn't help the Russian war effort. This is a frigging disaster, for about everyone.
I remember a saying about the Vietnam War that the Viet Cong had decades of experience while the US soldiers had one year, 8 times.

Here is a podcast from Malcom Nance...an MSNBC analyst...who is actually now serving in the Volunteer forces in Ukraine....at 61 years old. He spent a month on the ground in Ukraine during the RU build up on the border, not so much as a journalist but as an independent military analyst. He made the point that people were completely overlooking the Ukrainian Military at the outset of the war. He spent most of his time with them during his stay. He has 36 years of experience in US Intelligence including battle ground experience. This was recorded at the beginning of the fighting and he just nailed it....especially Kyiv. It's a good listen.

All those old videos clearly prove the opposite.

That this war conflict was created by the newly installed puppet government in Kiev, not Russia.
That's why.

If you have not heard already.

Nah, can't be happening in Ukraine.

Only in Russia.

Besides, we still don't know the exact number of the Nazi in Ukraine, and what's even worse - their exact percentage.

Until then - nope, it didn't happen.

US intel says Putin believes he is winning the Ukraine war and the West will give up on trying to isolate him, report says

Could be that Putin fell in the 'Dictator's Trap'

https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2022/03/putin-dictator-trap-russia-ukraine/627064/

-"Autocrats such as Putin eventually succumb to what may be called the “dictator trap.” The strategies they use to stay in power tend to trigger their eventual downfall. Rather than being long-term planners, many make catastrophic short-term errors—the kinds of errors that would likely have been avoided in democratic systems. They hear only from sycophants, and get bad advice. They misunderstand their population. They don’t see threats coming until it’s too late. And unlike elected leaders who leave office to riches, book tours, and the glitzy lifestyle of a statesman, many dictators who miscalculate leave office in a casket, a possibility that makes them even more likely to double down."

-"As a result, despots rarely get told that their stupid ideas are stupid, or that their ill-conceived wars are likely to be catastrophic. Offering honest criticism is a deadly game and most advisers avoid doing so. Those who dare to gamble eventually lose and are purged. So over time, the advisers who remain are usually yes-men who act like bobbleheads, nodding along when the despot outlines some crackpot scheme."

-"Plenty of people around Putin understood that dynamic, which is why they were willing to parrot Putin’s outlandish claim that the Jewish president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, is presiding over a “neo-Nazi” state. (Such mythmaking can happen in democracies too, if you have an authoritarian-style leader."

3000 of the 8000 member Wagner Group, which was sent into Ukraine early on to assassinate Zelensky, have been killed.
The Wagner Group is a team of mercenaries employed by Russia. They are paid fairly well by Russia standards ($2500 USD/month) and receive all the latest training and weapons. They are secretive and cannot use social media or announce their whereabouts.
And they have failed, so far, in their quest to assassinate and silence Zelensky.

Video HERE titled, "Putin trusted..." explains the details.

Russia abandons plans to take the Azovstal.

Quote:
Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered his troops to seal off Ukrainian defenders inside the besieged port city of Mariupol.

Mr Putin told forces to abandon plans to storm the sprawling Azovstal steel works there, where Ukraine is still resisting the invaders.

”Block off this industrial area so that a fly cannot not pass through,” he said.
”There is no need to climb into these catacombs and crawl underground through these industrial facilities,” he said, while praising Mr Shoigu for the successful operation to ”liberate Mariupol” from Ukraine.

Maybe a fly won't be able to pass through but it looks like earthworms might? Last night the US signaled the Azovstal wasn't about to fall any time soon. Also last night Ukraine publicized a joint Ukrainian Army / Azov break-out to bring in the border patrol and police units to the Azovstal - 500 of them that were in a pocket down near one of the ports - supported by, get this - armored vehicles. Heavy Russian casualities

Pretty unbelievable if only because the bridges to the plant - complex, it's a series of plants within a steelworks & industrial area with bunkers six levels down, reinforced with connecting passages - have been blown. The spokeswoman for Metinvest Holding Co. (Rinat Akhmetov owns it) discussed the plant workers now at the complex sheltering with their families to the NYT, mentioning the two employees who left in March making it to the Ukrainian Army. The two employees but not the spokeswoman separately described the elaborate tunnel system that extends out into city streets. Helpful, used? Hard to tell.

Still Azov set this up. Before the reported operation it went online announcing how the complex was out of food that it would be falling within the day. Same thing the marines did - although they really were hungry, clearly from their faces. Most of the marines apparently made it thru to the Azovstal although some were captured, nothing like the 1000 reported by the Russians (according to Ukraine).

-------

Since that Ukrainian announcement of the new Azovstal reinforcements, this (complete with video of what looks like an industrial area):

For the civilians, only 3 school buses made it out yesterday. 78 people instead of the thousands anticipated.

The alleged mass grave near #Mariupol was found from a satellite. The Maxar images show a trench in the village of #Mangush that is more than 300 meters long. It could contain thousands of bodies, said Petr Andryushchenko, an adviser to the city's mayor.
