Interesting, Russia is probably weaker economically than most realized
It may as well be all fabrication.
Today there was a Ukrainian woman on TV who is running some sort of Ukrainian expats in Portugal club. She sounded like a fan spreading atrocity propaganda via TV. I could tell from her face and gestures that she was lying.
Russia has not designed and pursed a scheme whereby they become the sole rulers as the West has. Russia and China, the only potential contenders, have become encircled, militarily, economically and ideologically, due to the calculations and schemes of the West. The solution would be simple, Ukraine would have a neutral status as Finland. But the objective is to confront, put pressure and finally cause the demise of Russia.
Russia is the only one doing encircling. They built up 200,000 troops or so on the border of a nation that never threatened them. Russia invaded Ukraine. Ukraine is and wasn't ever going to be able to cause Russia's demise. Your claims are so absurd they are laughable.
And since you bring up China, they seemingly want nothing to do with Putin's war. And China has flourished economically while Russia has remained a backwards nation. The reason for that lies squarely on Putin's shoulders.
The United States and its allies agreed Saturday to take aim at Russia through SWIFT, a service that facilitates global transactions among thousands of financial institutions, the White House said in a joint announcement with global partners.
"We commit to ensuring that selected Russian banks are removed from the SWIFT messaging system. This will ensure that these banks are disconnected from the international financial system and harm their ability to operate globally," the statement, attributed to the leaders of the European Commission, France, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States, said.
Who said that besides you? Oh, funny, nobody!
The UN has voted.
China, India, a couple others abstained. EVERYBODY ELSE voted against Russia's invasion into Ukraine, an independent democratic nation.
Huh? I am referring to the Monroe doctrine. Why does the US have the right to tell others not to come to the Western hemisphere, but others don't have the right to tell the West not to come to their neighborhood?
And no, most of those countries that voted have no clue of the background of that conflict. Their vote is based on propaganda and pity, not on knowledge and morals.

Good. This is as it should be. It is better for humanity, and for the whole world, for the west, with its values of democracy, freedom, and capitalism, to dominate politically. And notice, when given a choice, nations will choose willingly and freely to align with democracy and freedom, rather than authoritarianism and communism.
A multipolar world in which China and Russia are equal powers with the west is more dangerous for everyone.
I have absolutely no sympathy for Russia's and China's perceived lack of global influence and power.
No, there is no objective to cause any demise of Russia, but to contain it, and to contain China as well.
