Gabbard said on Twitter that pushing Ukraine to join NATO led to this. She was accused of being a traitor by a bunch of chickenhawks, yet she's the one who has been deployed to war (in Iraq).

This is not an issue of US politics (political parties, where on this topic there's substantial overlap) but rather of US policy. Here's another U.S. voice opposing NATO expansion that includes this statement:

Once again, the potential reasonableness and wisdom of these views may be in shambles due to the Putin decision to INVADE. This author (a former U.S. ambassador to the USSR) also has not commented since Russian troops entered Ukraine.
Good points, this looks like it will boil down to infantry and a fight on the ground as was the case in Vietnam, Afghanistan and others. Superior fire power doesn't always win against motivated fighters. I doubt the hearts of the Russian soldiers are in this war but we can be sure Ukraine is fighting for their lives.
This looks to be a tough slog for Russian soldiers and their Chechen and Belarusian comrades in arms.
In addition to the Ukrainian fighters, who are indeed fighting for their lives, they have an auxiliary service open to anyone in the world with military experience who wants to fight Russians.
Read about a group of NATO trained Spec Ops veterans from UK, and US who were joining up. Looked to me like they could cause some serious damage. Who knows how many more there are that we aren't reading about it.
This is the battle of a century. What warrior wouldn't want to be there?
There's only one real reason, the rest are lame excuses.
Putin misses the USSR, wants to stroke his ego by invading a sovereign nation that likes democracy western-style, looks to the west and the USA and NATO and the EU as role models not Putin and his cronies. This is all about Putin's diminished ego.
The people of the world should ban together and stop buying goods from China and India until they join in condemning Russia.
They won't condemn this horrific Russian invasion. They already made that clear by voting to abstain at the UN. Both have strong ties with Russia. As I said earlier, Russia can still trade with them to circumvent the sanctions.
This is fascinating. Want to understand Putin might as well listen to HIM. Only about 14.5 minutes into the 1 hour speech made on Feb. 21st to the Security Council on Donbass recognition. He's giving them a lecture on history where the Bolsheviks and Communist party in the late 1980s made profound errors in allowing or acknowledging the national identity of the various USSR republics. Turns out that the USSR is or rather was "historical RUSSIA." Putin sounds like a belief-driven man, an ideologue. Not yet a single word about a Donbass atrocity at the hands of a Ukrainian. Instead he is incensed the Ukrainians thought they had obtained a country.
Folks are overestimating the Chinese ties to Russia. Russia is an economic backwater with an economy smaller than Canada's even though it has 4x the population. The US and EU combined have over 50% of the world's GDP with less 20% of its population. China knows where the money is and it isn't Russia.
