The 2nd Amendment was designed for situations exactly as those being faced in Ukraine. Tyrants want the population to be disarmed so that they are easier to control.
It is not surprising that liberals, who are totalitarians at heart, support the very same measures as other fascists in wanting to disarm and weaken the population.
If Putin is successful in taking Ukraine, the very first thing he will do is to INITIATE GUN CONTROL. Such measures are the actions of tyrants who fear the people.

Obama promised change and that was what he was referring to.
Alinsky wrote the 8 steps to make it happen.
If you look at it you know that is exactly what the democrats have been trying to do.
1) Healthcare – Control healthcare and you control the people.
2) Poverty – Increase the poverty level as high as possible; poor people are easier to control and will not fight back if you are providing everything for them to live.
3) Debt – Increase the debt to an unsustainable level. That way you are able to increase taxes and this will produce more poverty.
4) Gun control – Remove people’s ability to defend themselves from the government. That way you are able to create a police state.
5) Welfare – Take control of every aspect of people’s lives (food, housing and income).
6) Education – Take control of what people read and listen to; take control of what children learn in school.
7) Religion – Remove the belief in God from the government and schools.
8) Class warfare – Divide the people into the wealthy and the poor. This will cause more discontent and it will be easier to take from (tax) the wealthy with the support of the poor
And in spite of all of that, the CD predicted disasters never happened. Use the search tool on this forum and look back at all of the things that you and your buddies here predicted would happen when Obama took office. None of it happened. I still have my guns and private healthcare. After 8 years of Obama and 1 of Biden. I guess you were full of crap then and you are full of crap now, right? Otherwise how do you explain the FACT that none of that stuff actually happened?
