Just days before the invasion, Trump, Tucker Carlson and others were in gush mode about Putin/ Russia.

The sitting POTUS is ultimately responsible for what happens on his watch.

No changing the rules.

I don't want him to do anything, which is something he excels at.

It's not our fight. Stay out of it.

Are you kidding me? He's been saying for years, to NATO, to back off. He told the world, years ago, that he would wreck Ukraine if NATO kept talking to Ukraine. I have posted a video 3 times on this forum in an attempt to get people to understand what's going on. How did the speaker know, 7 years ago, that this would happen, but our government and NATO countries had no clue?

BS! They knew, but kept tempting fate. Now people are dying because countries wanted to play games. Putin isn't stupid, and he had made one last attempt to talk about it. He was basically waved off. Well...how did that work out?

Who would send screen saver harris to europe to 'help'???????????????????????????????

'I've never been to Europe" harris is rooting around looking for root causes. All she has to do is go to the library and read up on root causes of any social or political issue. reams of material on the subject matter.

Biden is doing nothing positive to help ukraine by sending harris.

Ukraine is using the weapons Trump sent. they ran out of MREs and blankets obama/biden sent.
The US has never been net energy independent- producing what we consume.

The US ( traders and refineries) has been buying petro products from Russia for nearly 30 years, including 2020 when there was a glut of oil. The pandemic caused a record decline in global demand. Russia and the Saudis had themselves a price war whereby, the Saudis pumped like no tomorrow despite the lack of global demand.

On 4/20/2020, the WTI benchmark for the 5/2020 contract fell 306% and closed negative 37.63. Yet, some traders and refineries bought Russian. Makes no sense to me.

Thus far this year , no US trader or refinery has purchased Russian petro products.

Actually no.

Partisans just enjoy portraying it as such.

Independent, who did not vote for either Biden or Trump (x2). Do not like Biden's policies or him being POTUS with his current dementia.

But I support him in keeping us out of this war by not putting American soldiers on the ground. We have had 20+ years of wars that we have lost and have come home with tails tucked between our legs. And there was no right way to leave that godforsaken Afghanistan, that we should never have stayed in for more than a few months. Russia did not fight us directly in Iraq or Afghanistan and let us keep out of this war.

Putin might be ruthless, but the president of Ukraine is no angel. His henchmen have been ruthless towards ethnic Russian in the east of the country. We just don't get to hear about it in the media since it will spoil the feel good narrative about Ukraine.

Finally Putin may not be all that irrational. He said he would not allow Ukraine to become a NATO country and we thought he was bluffing and he called our bluff. As to an independent sovereign nation having the right to decide its fate, well we did not allow Cuba to decide its fate when Russia wanted to put its missiles 90 miles from USA. What is good for the goose is good for the gander. Superpowers act this way, whether they are USA, Russia or China.

Apply sanctions. But if we restrict oil, the cost will go through the roof, the inflation will surge, the Feds will increase the interest rates more quickly and our economy will stall. Take your pick of the poison.

Biden was dealt a tough hand to play in Afghanistan.

Prior Admin negotiated with the Taliban.

Prior Admin agreed in 2/2020 to facilitate the release of 5000 Taliban fighters from Afghan prisons and did.

It also agreed to withdraw all troops by 5/2021. Trump boasted all would be home by 2020 year end.

In reality, 1250 ( down from 100,000 at peak) troops and an unknown number of contractors and civilians were left in Afghanistan. There was no plan to remove military equipment from this mountainous land locked country.

State Department has long advised against travel to Afghanistan and if travel is necessary, to register with the embassy. For unknown reasons, civilians, mostly Afghan- Americans and legal residents continued to travel and failed to register with the embassy. Who sends elementary school children to a war zone in the midst of chaos, yet parents did?

Trump’s resolve to exit was matched by Biden.

Guess Biden could have redeployed a massive number of troops as Bush, Obama and Trump had previously done. Then we could have blamed him for that.

Like I said, no win. And no clue how Trump Admin expected an orderly exit with 1250 troops.

Check out the Last Days in Vietnam. Like most, I agree the US never should have been in either country, especially as long as we were.
