Were you forced or held at gunpoint to have children? I doubt it. That was a choice YOU made. Kids are expensive, you should've known that prior to having them. YOUR choice that YOU made with YOUR spouse isn't my problem.
To AOC's credit, I agree that children are a major responsibility and they are expensive.
...which is why the Government needs to butt out and people need to make their own choices. I personally don't want children but I'm not going to stop anyone from having them. Nor am I going to eviscerate the nuclear family. But again, if you choose to have children (incur a major expense) that you can't afford, that's on you.
What I'm not interested in, however, is government using money to subsidize this or that or other thing. Government needs to butt out and leave us the hell alone.
True, she made a point, but the reality is her "point" is more gear towards Marxists and Socialists hating the structure of the nuclear family. So while she's right, she's also wrong.
I'd be interested in a source for this, so I can understand the context.
Here's some links. She tries justifying it by saying it's because of "climate change" (also a stupid reason), but remember, she's a Socialist who also is in favor of Marxist ideologies. Socialists, Communists, and Marxists hate the very idea of the nuclear family and everything it stands for. It's why clowns like Patrice Cullors and BLM say we need to "dismantle and restructure it." The LGBT community also feels the same way.

Thank you. I find the last article a touching tribute to a mother-daughter relationship based more on friendship than biology. I have that type of relationship with my own daughter, who has also decided to remain child-free.
Tax policy is how the government controls social policy. They give credits for good behavior and tax bad behavior.
Doesn't that depend on what kind of tax they take. ie, the sin tax we pay for cigarettes and alcohol. That is the punishment tax. I can't think of one single good tax that benefits everyone. Unless we just give up and say the heck with it let the government take care of me.

That's because all taxes are varying degrees of bad. There's no such thing as a good tax period.

I especially hate the high "school" taxes that I have to pay. Where I live at use to be a retirement community. Now more and more families are moving in and they want to build schools plus playgrounds with "tax" money. I was lucky to get into the lower "tax" school district.
I always did and still do believe people with children should pay School tax not everyone.

I disagree. Public schools are a public good; therefore, I would argue that funding them is a community-wide responsibility.
