Joe Biden is undoubtedly racist. He's doing all he can to trap African-American students in failed inner-city schools by restricting charter schools & killing school choice.

Joe is more interested in protecting teacher union jobs, than he is in helping these students escape failed urban schools.

Joe once said he was against school bussing because he didnt want his kids to attend a school that looked like a jungle...or some phrase like that.

Well, he's at it again.

I hope the African-American voters are watching this racist in action, and vote him, & his ilk, out of office on Nov 8th of this year, then again in 2024.

How dare he deny these students the best possible education, just to keep the teacher union campaign $'s flowing to Dems. This Swamp Creature is heartless & corrupt.

Wasn't the former Secretary of Education all about Charter schools ? Here in Michigan, the charter schools in Detroit out perform the Detroit public schools.

The reason why Democrats will not let school vouchers problems, isn't about race, it's about maintaining teacher union votes. They would rather let black kids suffer, to receive votes. The inner cities aren't really the brightest either, and take the bait over and over again.

The Republicans had the McCloskey couple at their 2020 convention. There was also a lot of talk about Democrats wanting to abolish the suburbs or something. I’m not sure that black Americans are going to be attracted to that either.

There is a whole thread on this subject.

Charter schools are no better or worse than public schools, but more over if a charter school can thrive in the same community as a public school, then the problem isnt public schools, its either funding or bad leadership.

Single family zoning is stupid, but abolishing it doesnt get rid of suburbs, rich NIMBYs just dont like it.

Or maybe it is getting the better and more interested students out of the toxic public school environment so they can achieve their goals.

I'm thinking it's the Union/leadership with the DPS. We spend more per student in Detroit than we do in the wealthiest district in the state. So, it isn't funding.

They outperform DPS, with less funding.

This. Even if you abolish single family zoning, you're not going to see highrises in a wealthy suburban neighborhood. Market forces at work.

The only places where you're going to see a change in density is where the land is not being optimally used.
