I keep hearing on TV how tricky it is feeding a baby if you do not have formula, a specific formula your baby has to have......this just sounds odd to me.
Millions of babies all over the world do without it.

The damage has been done since Spud Boy isn’t going anywhere and he still has plenty of time to screw more “sheet” up BEFORE January 2025.

Remember this AND it came out of Spud Boy’s own mouth a few weeks ago, when he warned us about the upcoming food shortages that will hit in the Fall. A massive baby formula shortage is bad, but when regular food is in short supply AND costs way more than it does now, it’s going to get ugly, especially inside the urban centers of the country. Hopefully, the government, that we pay taxes to and for still has emergency food supplies for the American people, not just for the millions of illegal aliens crossing into the country…. Who, without question will get first dibs on food.

Well, if you’re smart, you will start to stock up your pantries with at least 3-5 weeks of food that has a long shelf life to supplement the coming shortages.

People will call it hoarding, but it’s all about being prepared to ride out any storm we may face.

I don’t buy into all that conspiracy BS, but I don’t trust this administration one bit and I can’t help but to think that this baby formula shortage could be a “test run” to see what the average low information voter may act towards more drastic Biden’s policies. Might explain why he acted all “pizzy” yesterday when asked about the formula shortages across the country…. Nothing happens without a good or bad reason.

Sadly, it’s going to be a very bad fall and winter for many poor countries around the world and wars have been started over the lack of food…. Something to think about.
You are moving up the list of my favorite c/d posters. Always calling it like you see it.

That is what our current uber-leftist federal gov't wants...for us all to learn to do w/ a lot less than we had before...& like it:

-no baby formula..."deal with it, like your grandparents did"

-no toilet paper..."use your hands"

-no meat..."you'll all eat plant-based foods & like it, while we eat Waygu filet's".

-no affordable gas, but "we'll fly around the globe in our private jets"

-no more large homes, "you'll all live in tiny homes, while we live in multiple residences"

-no affordable healthcare "while we all have cadillac health plans for life, and concierge Docs on call"

Ever heard of breast pumps?

And it can be done manually. Plenty of new mothers nurse and feed their babies breast milk.

I kept a friends baby for 2 years while she worked. During the day when the time came, she went to a very private place and pumped her breast milk into a bottle. She refrigerated it and gave it to me when she picked up the baby. That's what I fed the baby the next day. Women have been doing it for years.

We also made the baby food from scratch using organic produce.

And that was 45 years ago, old man. That baby is a grandma now.

It is what it is. There may NOT be the need for more became of the limited demand.

And if you REALLY care, why don't YOU start another company?

You could even get all the dem business experts, who NEVER OWNED or started a business, but claim to be experts, on here to help you.
Hard to enter the market when 4 companies control 89% of it.

And IIRC, a few years ago one did a huge stock buy back. Some of that money could have been used to clean the place up. Or maybe expand?

Do you think the government should nationalize the baby food manufacturing business? Should government set production targets like in China? Many want less government involvement in the private sector until that model fails as it has in this instance. Then the cries "why doesn't the government do more, fix this?" begin.

We see in this crisis yet another manifestation of the failure of protectionist tariffs. Tariffs imposed on imported formula eliminated competition for Abbot. Their profits went up of course, and the shareholders gained. But that same lack of competition gave them license to not invest in modernizing, expanding or even performing needed maintenance at their plant.

Free markets function when they are free markets. Monopolistic schemes and tariffs promoted by government at the behest of lobbyists and corporations do no favor to either the companies or their customers in the long run.

Biden and the Democrats have interfered in everything else so why stop now with baby formula? And how do you know none of this was an indirect result of Democrat whacked policies?

Why didnt the federal gov't anti-trust police protect us from industry consolidation into just 4 baby formula producers?

Why didn't the FDA protect us from the dirty IIRC facilities, and force them to clean them up?

Either the federal gov't is taking kickbacks to look the other way, or they are totally enept...which is it?
