One thing that's going on is that it shows why Americans should stop whining about our very minor lockdown here.
Lockdown restrictions here caused many people to be denied medical care and their deaths. Many people are going through cancer that wasn't caught in the earliest stages because of covid restrictions. I find out my own biopsy results next week. They let a tumor grow in me for over two years and they wouldn't even examine me until a couple of months ago when the tumor was finally discovered. I cannot even process all of the people who have died from lack of medical care that I either knew or was acquainted with in some way.
Zero-Covid is absolutely nuts. Especially in perpetuity. All the more reasons supply chains should be diversified away from China as much as possible. No reason the rest of the world should be impacted because CCP China didn't develop/obtain better vaccines.
I agree. There are many countries that would like to fill that void. Granted it will take time, but I think it's a worthwhile goal.
I think it is possible that the government there is deliberately killing the people. They are starving them to death. Later they can lie and say they died from covid or something. China has been trying to reduce the population for a while.
Why target Shanghai though? Isn't Shanghai and Shenhzen one of the areas where China's more productive people live?

One of the ones I know that has cancer even had surgery delayed after the discovery because the covid infection rates went up a little bit. The hospital shut down all "elective surgery" and cancer surgery is deemed to be elective surgery around here.
