It's not a political decision, it's the correct decision based on the Constitution. I don't believe the Republicans will suffer in November over this, but if they do so be it.
The Supreme Court needs to ground its decision in the Constitution - not public opinion. Our elected leaders are the ones who are supposed to respond to public opinion.
Does this mean other Supreme Court decisions are now subject to being overturned? So much of American life is based on SC decisions that have guided our way in so many areas. I would not want to see a bunch of other cases brought up for overturning.
I wonder how many red state women will be traveling to blue states for abortions in the future. It will be interesting to watch that particular brand of hypocracy.

State representatives in Texas are planning to do just that under the private cause of action the Legislature passed during the last session. They plan to sue anyone who facilitates a woman getting an abortion, regardless of where it occurs.
