Are you saying our Constitution does not give us privacy rights?
It doesn't. We know that because privacy rights aren't respected when one chooses to exercise their 2nd Amendment Rights. Fill out that 4473. Pass a NICS background check. Serial numbers traced to owners. All of that invades one's privacy.
With abortions in the first trimester, there are no babies. The woman has a right to prevent something from growing inside her. It's called: stop it before it gets started.
What does that have to do with the legitimacy of Roe vs Wade?
If you have reasons why Roe vs Wade does not contradict the terms of our constitution and the intentions and beliefs under which its provisions were adopted, why not simply post your reasons, and why Roe should not be overturned.
Why not? Here's a comprehensive outline of abortion rights throughout Europe. Europe is a continent that consists of over 40 countries. 39 of them have legal abortion on request. Only six countries do not.
In Europe, over 95% of the women of reproductive age live in the countries that allow abortion on request or broad social grounds.
And yet most of the EU bans elective abortions after about 12 weeks. Most only allow abortion into the 2nd trimester when the life of the mother is at risk.
This is inline with the vast majority of people in the US as well.
So how liberal will abortion laws be in Democrat controlled states like California, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Colorado, etc..?

I was responding to someone about the privacy rights issue. We have a HIPAA law that gives us privacy in medical matters. But in some states (i.e. Texas and the trigger law states) it appears HIPAA does not apply to abortion. Just this one medical procedure is being singled out.
If you care to bring up other facets of the Row v Wade issue, be my guest. I might respond, or not.
Two months ago, 42% had a positive view of the Supreme Court and 42% had a negative view for a 0% variance; now 38% have a positive view and 52% a negative one for a -14% variance. Disapproval of the Supreme Court has jumped among Democrats from 54% in March to 75% now and from 37% among Independents in March to 57% currently. Approval of the job performance of the Supreme Court among Republicans has risen from 52% in March to 65% now.
Americans views on abortion remain stable:
33% believe it should be always legal, regardless of the circumstances
31% believe it should remain legal with some limitations
26% believe that abortion should only be legal in cases of rape, incest or to save the life of the mother
8% believe it should always be illegal, regardless of the circumstances 2% have no opinion or did not respond

I would like to see abortion laws in line with the above.
