Roe was a protection under federal law, there are states planning to ban abortion as soon as it is removed. There have been many laws at the state level that restricted abortion that were previously overruled only because of Roe.

The abortion bill isn't going anywhere, there is no illusion that republicans have any interest.

If you have reasons why Roe vs Wade does not contradict the terms of our constitution and the intentions and beliefs under which its provisions were adopted, why not simply post your reasons, and why Roe should not be overturned.

Cite the federal law guaranteeing the right to abortion on demand.

Good question. I'd like to see the answer to that, too.

Roe was not grounded in constitutional law nor the provisions of our Constitution. it made a mockery of our constitutionally limited system of government.

And the instant the Republicans took back power, which they will because that is cyclical, they'd pack it even more and add more conservatives. And we'd be in the "pack the court" death spiral of political madness.

Dems take it to 13, get their 7 seat majority. Republicans say cool, pack it with 4 more, now they have the 10 seat majority. Dems come back and pack on 4 more, now they have 11 seats. Pretty soon, the SCOTUS has like 91 seats. Nothing stops either party from doing that, except of course the knowledge and surety that the minute the other party gets power back, which the other party ALWAYS DOES, that other party will make them pay dearly for this foolishness.

But go ahead, keep thinking a political majority in the US is permanent. Harry Reid thought that once, and Trump-McConnell made the Democrats pay dearly for Reid's filibuster tantrum.

I get the distinct impression from you post [embracing packing of our S.C.] that you want our Judicial System to be used to impose your personal whims and fancies rather then enforce the provisions of our Constitution, and the documented intentions under which those provisions were adopted. Am I correct in thinking this?

“Christian nationalists” want an American version of the Taliban running a Christian autocratic government headed by Trump.

FAIL. The US Constitution is not a religious document.

It is shameful how so many attach their own personal desires to the meaning of our constitution, but fail to present the evidence their desires are within the constitution's intended meaning.
