Can anyone explain to me how not so bright people gained so much control over those who claim to be smarter...the Republicans?

A lot of that can't be attributed to the Democrat party's success. We are living in a society that isn't so bright via liberalism and wokeness and their numbers are out numbering smart and sane voters in this country and they vote like minded candidates into office that promise them the moon.

Because there are more democrats, and more people who vote democrats than there are Republicans who vote republican.

It's a numbers game. More people choose to be democrats and share values with democrats.

As much as Republicans fail to believe that, because they themselves know more republicans in their chosen social circles.

/\ /\ /\ Exactly and that’s why the Democrats want open borders so we get more people in this country who want handouts and freebies along with the growing US population of lazy people who feel they are entitled to a free ride.

It’s like a cancer that’s spreading and the extreme left is feeding the disease.

Poor Republican leadership is what did our side in. Nixon, Reagan, Bush I, Bush II were all awful, except Reagan’s first term was good.

People finally woke up and realized Classic Republican conservatism isn’t good for the middle class. So the Republican Party is different now, and we’ll see how it goes into the future.

Democrats need to understand that the paradigm has shifted. Bush, Romney, McCain, etc are all disliked by most current Republicans.

Democrats are now the oppressors. You couldn’t say that when Obama was running in 2008.
