The standard of living for most Russians is low by industrialized world standards, so maybe this doesn't seem all that different than their regular life.
Friends visited Russia several years ago, and stayed in the homes of well-to-do colleagues. The stories they told of their apartments, shopping, and their lives in general were mind boggling. Hard to imagine people being content to live like that in this day and age.
Well looking at the numbers, before this war Russia's GDP (PPP) per capita was basically on par with the poorest members of the EU. Which obviously is still much higher than that of many of the former republics.
I don't think it is terrorism when your country has been invaded by this country, and they have been launching missile attacks on civilian targets.
When Hamas terrorists attacked Israel, Israel fought back and did to Hamas about 50 times what Hamas did to Israel.
Russian terrorists attacked Ukraine, but Ukraine hasn't done nearly as much to Russian terrorists when compared to what Israel has done to Hamas terrorists.
Yes, I am all for Ukraine killing as many Russian terrorists as they can in defense of their country.

50 times might be a bit extreme. They are reporting around 23,000 Palestinians killed in Gaza. Israel lost around 1200 on October 7th and around 180 IDF lost in the attack on Gaza. That is more like 16 times not counting the hostages and the death toll in the West Bank.
The difference in Ukraine is this is not terrorism. It is a war between two nations.
The fact that Ukraine has had to resort to what many would call terrorism (If it were to occur on US soil) demonstrates their inability to fight in the war. Ukraine's ability to fight in the war has been greatly diminished. If Russia wanted to run riot over their cities, they could. Hopefully it doesn't reach that point but Ukraine stands to continue to lose more as time goes on.
So if your country gets invaded by a larger one because they want a larger land area, you just give in and agree to their rules? Russia started this mess and they'll be in a quagmire forever.

Actually Ukraine started it when they declared themselves an independent country with foreign help, and no longer part of Russia right after the USSR fell and Russia was in no position to stop them.
It's sort of like Texas declaring independence and having China and Mexico back them up

Ukraine and Russia were both republics in the USSR, and after the USSR fell all the republics became their own countries. Ukraine was not a part of Russia during the Soviet period.

No, it didn't, because most of the dead are civilians. Women and children.
Also, guess who some of the kids that witnessed their parents and siblings blown to pieces become when they grow up.
P.S. There is a higher number of civilian deaths in Gaza in 3 months than in the 2 year Russia-Ukraine war (both sides combined).

The EU passed legislation declaring Russia a terrorist state last year.

We call them States and the Soviets called them Republics. There is no difference. Ukraine had been part of Russia for hundreds of years as it was with the Soviets. They never had total independence any more than a U.S. State has total independence. Ukraine was for centuries a vital and important part of Russia. You can't get around that no matter how hard you try.
