Oh, she wasn't arrested with possession with intent to sell or distribute. She was arrested for vape cartridges for her personal use, while she was chillin' between games in the Russian league.
And that’s illegal. She was in an airport.
Do you think it’s a good idea to break laws in developing countries who hate America and the west?
Well you clearly haven’t traveled much or watched the news. A guy from America who went to North Korea was tortured to death for trying to steal a banner. All he had to do was follow the rules.
What is there to debate here??? She was caught with vape cartridges containing THC. Everyone knows the law and how Russia treats that. If not, maybe she should have asked someone if that was a good idea 1st.
Some people say it could be fabricated... I suppose that's true, since USA police have been caught all the time planting drugs in order to make an arrest. I would be surprised if that kind of stuff didn't happen in Russia from time to time. So why bother sending our athletes there if this is a concern??? I would guess because everyone connected with the story probably figures she is guilty and she did it to herself.
There's no angle for helping her because we can't say to the Russian legal system that it is not significant.
But if there were some major event, or diplomacy with the U.S., benefiting Russia, then I think VP would get a special decree and have her released. VP does have athletic interests.
In Russia, all cannabis products are illegal. The law is not vague or difficult to understand at all. Some people just choose not to follow them, or they pick and choose which ones they will follow at potentially their own peril.
It wasn't that long ago that the US DEA was busting hemp farmers. I'm glad the laws have changed, but much of the world has not followed our lead on relaxing cannabis laws.
Guarantee people in here would be crying tears if it were Tom Brady. Talking about she smuggled drugs. It was a damn vape pen.
Before this incident, most people never heard of her. Most people know who Tom Brady is. That’s the difference. Do you ever hear about the hundreds if not thousands of people that are arrested abroad every year? No one knows who they are so people could care less. If she broke the law, she’ll have to deal with it like any other person facing charges.
