If you go back and research the growth of government by administration, you will find that Obama reduced it, and Saint Ronnie increased it more than any of his predecessors or successors. Typical Republican chin music.

If the government was suddenly drastically reduced, there would not be sufficient manpower to service the requests snd expectations of the public.

It was Zoe Lofgren who delivered that bit of news on "Dateline: White House." It just occurred to me to look up the committee members names. I have the TV on in the background

Just typical stuff from the right-wing library of talking points, just predictable things they say all the time.

There was no 'coup attempt'. There were a bunch of radicals breaking into the capital. Not a single shot was fired by them. We had a guy with a funny outfit sitting in Pelosi's chair. People taking selfies. Talking/laughing with Capitol officers. No, I'm not justifying anything that happened but this is not a 'coup' or an 'insurrection'. It's more like trespassing on federal property.

But the root cause is the climate the Democrats created.

And yes, Hillary Clinton never got charged. The staffers for Colbert who were arrested a few weeks back in the Capitol were never charged. Holder was never charged. Hunter Biden: who knows? And what happened on the other side? Two one-side impeachment scams and this phony January 6 commission. If this was a bipartisan commission, like 9/11 I would totally be on-board with the findings, even if it meant Trump crossed the line. But not like this. It's impeachment 3.0.
The hyper-partisanship began from the right after Obama’s election, with the tea party but also those in the government, like Boehner’s vow to block anything Obama tried to pass. Trump and Fox made it exponentially worse.

There were only no shots fired because they refused to remove the magnetometers like Trump wanted. I don’t see how any thinking person could dismiss Jan 6, it is the darkest day in the history of the presidency. Even those who were there admitted they were trying to upend the election because Trump wanted them to.

I just upgraded my phone (through the mail no less) and kept all of my old text messages. Amazing. The Secret Service should hire me.
